These laws let the government take firearms away from people who are arrested but not convicted of crimes. Even simple complaints without arrests have been enough.

Red Flag laws, if Federal will rapidly become general confiscation laws as soon as we get a Democrat in the WH and will develop into confiscation in left states if they are state laws. All forms of them conceivable that affect possession of guns are unConstitutional. Not that that means anything useful to the Justices. Well, maybe Justice Thomas.

There are already laws sufficient for police to develop trees of association and to round up potential mass murderers from the ecstasy, meth and Xanax crowd (emo/anime fans, sexually confused, radical counter-culture, etc.). If they have records, they’ll be prohibited from possessing firearms.
I would agree, but that is not the intent of Red Flag laws...
They are not for preventing mass shootings! No gun control proposal is designed or supported because it will prevent mass shootings. All these proposals are only for, and strictly only for, gun confiscation.
