That’s Ted Cruz’s claim to American citizenship.
His mother was American, his father Cuban and he was born in Canada.
Harris’ father was Jamaican, she was born Jamaican.
Her mother was Indian, she was born Indian.
She was born in the US and we bestowed US citizenship (unlike most countries) just because she was born here.

Unless the parent or parents are legal immigrants and have a Green Card and as such a legal Residents. Children that are born before the parent or parents can file for Naturalization are automatically American Citizen. It normally takes 5 years to file for Naturalization. There are exception though. When I went through the citizen ship class in Junction City, which is right out side of Fort Riley KS in 1977 there were 3 Koreans who had only been in the states for 3 weeks. Their husbands were being transferred to Germany if I recall correct,and the wives could accompany them. I was really surprised by this, but this is the fact.

About Ted Cruz: You totally ignoring that his mother was born and raised in Delaware and as such is a natural born citizen, which made Ted Cruz also a natural born citizen. It doesn't matter where his father was from it doesn't count

About Harris. If her parents were legal residents than she is a natural born citizen and don't tell me otherwise you goofball. I know what I am talking about, you obviously don't
