Unless the parent or parents are legal immigrants and have a Green Card and as such a legal Residents. Children that are born before the parent or parents can file for Naturalization are automatically American Citizen. It normally takes 5 years to file for Naturalization. There are exception though. When I went through the citizen ship class in Junction City, which is right out side of Fort Riley KS in 1977 there were 3 Koreans who had only been in the states for 3 weeks. Their husbands were being transferred to Germany if I recall correct,and the wives could accompany them. I was really surprised by this, but this is the fact.

Ted Cruz was born with three nationalities also, Canadian from his place of birth, Cuban from his father, American from his mother. His mother being a natural born citizen is irrelevant.
She had her child in another country with a foreigner.
Ted Cruz is no more a natural born citizen than Kalalalala.
He remained a Canadian citizen until 2014.
Again, natural born citizens are NATURALLY citizens because they cannot possibly be anything else.
