Legal watchdog group Judicial Watch has filed suit against California on behalf of three taxpayers over the states effort to dictate the gender makeup of corporate boards, arguing that lawmakers have no authority to make such determinations for a private business.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week, seeks to halt implementation of Senate Bill 826, which requires publicly held corporations headquartered in the state to have at least one director who self-identifies her gender as a woman. Depending on the size of the board, the law would mandate as many as three self-identifying women.
The suit, Robin Crest et al v. Alex Padilla, claims that mandate would be unconstitutional.

....who self-identifies her gender as a woman....
No comment needed.
The proper response would be for corporations to shift their incorporation elsewhere, and move their headquarters.
The obvious question is why would a corporation want to do business in California?
So what’s to keep California from mandating a political officer to the boards of corporations? It’s ridiculous and directly impacts the fiduciary responsibility of a corporation to its shareholders.
