WE NEED CRIMINAL AND CRAZY CONTROL, NOT GUN CONTROL
frontpagemag.com ^ | 8/9/19 | Daniel Greenfield

Posted on 08/10/2019 7:16:18 AM PDT by a little elbow grease

Mass murder is not a gun control problem.

In 2003, Kim Dae-han, a middle-aged taxi driver, killed 192 people and left 151 others wounded, by setting a South Korean subway train on fire using paint cans filled with gasoline. In 2016, Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a Muslim terrorist, killed 86 people and wounded 458 others by ramming a truck into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in France. In 2001, Muslim terrorists killed 2,977 people and injured 6,000 more, by using box cutters to hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings.

Guns are a tool. There are a whole lot of other devastating ways to kill lots of people.

American mass killers often use guns because they’re convenient and available. There are plenty of alternatives like trucks, boxcutters, pressure cooker bombs and paint cans full of gasoline.

By extension, I will say that passing more laws is the lazy way, and will be an ineffective way out of this situation ...

The root cause will NOT be addressed.

True!
anyone can always get a firearm anyway (there being something like 400 million of them in circulation, depending on which stats you read....and you can bet that 399 million of them would NOT ever be turned in or “taken alive” so they’ll always be with us, as our Founding Fathers intended for USA)

it is the causative agents of the violence (the hate-filled and inciteful speeches and statements of the extreme leftists like Obama, Pelousy, Nadler, HilLIARy, Kerry, etc) and the organizing and funding of street thugs and sociological dissention (SorozNazi).... as well as the excessive violence in some movies .....

the set off, spur on.. the people that do these criminal deeds

so it is not only the criminals that need to be prosecuted, it is those that incite, encouarge, organize, enable, fund, provide defenses and lawyers for, aid, and abet the criminals that need to be dealt with

indeed, methinks they should be dealt with FIRST, since doing this will almost certainly cut down 90 percent of the criminal conduct we are concerned with, imho

We need to listen to the founding fathers and allow people to defend themselves. Mass shootings happen for one reason only: People are defenseless. There are a ton of examples on Youtube of people immediately neutralizing a threat on their lives by utilizing their God given right, something the media complete ignores. Look at this; The threat only gets off one shot before HE becomes the victim....

A mass shooter is nothing more than a runaway train where nobody is allowed to hit the brakes

US has 2.1 million prisoners and 655/100,000, the most in the world. We need shorter sentences for non violent offenders or community service to accommodate any increase in violent offenders.

That being said I doubt we have the real stories on the shootings when we have corrupt federal agencies investigating them. Remember the Feds want to disarm the public to better mange and control the people.

The root cause of this is the amount of people running around this country with dead souls.

This is a spiritual problem, and thus cannot be solved by government, which as no soul.

You would be punishing Democrat voters and they’re not going to tolerate that.

We need a functional, high-trust culture, one that gives people a reason to live. We used to have that. Instead, we have a multicultural hellscape of third worlders, pill addicts, weirdos, and fat people, whose only ambition is to consume the next product from Apple or Hollyweird. We were told to focus on tax cuts and not talk about social issues from 1992 on. Look where it’s gotten us.

Totally agree. There are already background checks in place, however...the big problem? They cannot open juvenile records and now, in an effort to “protect” black children from being suspended or cited or receiving any negative blowback for bad behavior, schools cannot even record these things. Which, paradoxically, has had the effect of protecting white nutcases.

These things must be recorded and must be available to law enforcement (or licensing checks, etc.).

Can information be misused? Of course. So the important thing for the protection of the innocent is to get the information, keep it closely guarded but make it available to law enforcement - and then carefully monitor the use of this information. And make it transparent. If you are denied a gun permit or a permit for a certain type of weapon, they have to tell you why and you can oppose it.

People get paranoid about information collection. The thing is that it can’t be stopped, but its uses can be controlled. And using it for stopping the deaths of scores of people at the hands of lunatics is a legitimate use.

Yes, and I don’t know how that is going to happen, because the church is utterly corrupt, and beyond that, there is a significant portion of this country’s population that is filled to the brim with hate, lies and poison.

America has got some very damn bad people in it.

Mass murder and ordinary murder have little or nothing to do with guns. All one need do to convince oneself of that fact is consider the streets of ancient Rome. Wealthy people had guards escort them everywhere they went. A modern man can scarcely conceive of just how extremely dangerous it was to walk those street. Poor people didn’t go out at night. Gangs, thugs and lunatics were everywhere. The murder rate was TEN TIMES the murder rate in modern America. IIRC, the annual rate in Rome was about 100 per 100,000 residents. Ours hovers around 10 per 100,000. And, of course, there were no guns.

And it was not just ancient Rome that proves the point, but many, many cities throughout the world and down through the ages do as well.

OTOH, there have been times and places in the world where guns were widely available to, and in the possession of, ordinary people. But the murder rate was a tiny fraction of ours. And that is true even for our own country; e.g., in 1850, America’s murder rate was 2 per 100,000, though guns were everywhere.

Guns aren’t the problem. Murderers are the problem. You want to get the murder rate down? Leave the guns alone and go after the murderers.

The anti-gun agenda has absolutely nothing to do with saving lives in the first place. We have to remember that the majority of these left radical extremists are all in for population control and would like to see man as a species wiped off the face of the earth.

All of a sudden they care about fellow man? Nope... Absolutely not, it is all based on a more sinister end result, control and enslavement.

An unusually good piece of brilliance by Mr. Greenfield. Should be mandatory reading for leftists. Maybe enough of them will see the light to make a difference. But in all honesty, doubt it.

They can try to Outlaw Evil combined with Human Ingenuity.

That might do the trick.

Gun Control is all about Control, it has nothing to do with Guns.

Can’t solve the “problem” of bad people being in existence.

Should be pushing constitutional carry not gun confiscation.
