Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein is dead, law enforcement sources said Saturday.
A gurney carrying a man who looked like Epstein was wheeled out of the Manhattan Correctional Center around 7:30 a.m. The ambulance went to New York Downtown Hospital.
The incident comes two weeks after Epstein, 66, was placed on suicide watch after he was found nearly unconscious in his cell with injuries to his neck.
The multimillionaire financier is being held without bail pending trial on child sex-trafficking charges. Thousands of documents unsealed Friday in connection with a defamation case against the perv’s alleged recruiter revealed dozens of high-profile names that a self-identified victim, Virginia Giuffre, said she was forced to perform sex acts with, from former Maine Sen. George Mitchell and ex-New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, money manager Glenn Dubin and MIT professor Marvin Minksy.
Epstein was busted July 6 over the alleged sexual abuse of dozens of young girls in his Upper East Side townhouse and his waterfront mansion in Palm, Beach, Florida, between 2002 and 2005.
He has pleaded not guilty and faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted.

Glad I’m not the only one wondering if he’s really dead.
This is too obvious. You would think there are three guys monitoring Jeffrey at all times. Unless the Feds wanted him dead.
He couldn't have been on suicide watch if he had anything in the cell that he could hang himself with.

It would be really helpful to know if those are actually FDNY and EMT personnel in that pic, or if they are plants wearing the uniforms...
You may see the body but you won’t get a full frontal of the face because they would have to show the ring of shots around his mouth that were, of course, self-inflicted.
Now that he’s dead, charges will be dropped and there will be no trial or further attempts at discovering evidence. The subject of the investigation is no more. Close down the office, seal the file, and put it into a box in the basement.
Time to move on to more important things, like bashing the president.
A lot of possibilities here.
Maybe he really isn’t dead, but was just spirited away.
If it was a hit, then no, money didn’t help; guards looked the other way.
Or, if he killed himself, the guards were either incompetent and inattentive, or bribed to be so.
Or, could he have been poisoned? He doesn’t control his food, and I don’t know how secure the prison food chain is. With the right substance, it only takes a few milligrams to do ya.
If faith in our institutions hadn’t been so eroded over the past 25 years, most of these would be totally implausible.

I worked in NY State’s prison system. Inmates that were on suicide watch were placed on it by a doctor. They were put in a special cell, stripped of everything, and an officer had to sit outside the door 24 hours a day to observe the inmate. They had to log every move that the inmate made, and in 25 years, no inmate at the prisons I worked at committed suicide while on suicide watch. The only one who can remove an inmate from suicide watch is a doctor.
Ya just can’t make this stuff up. Like a freakin Clancy novel.
This stuff makes Clancy look like a writer of pre school readers.
