You can see video at the link. It looks taller than the 18 feet that was reported earlier.
San Diego, the biggest city on the border, is now completely walled off from Mexico.
A second taller barrier behind this one started in February, and is expected to be completed around the end of the year.

Nice photo. Nice milestone.
Does anyone know the rationale for the fence panel design? I understand the advantage of being able to see through the fence but 2 sizes of rectangular panels at the top has me stumped.

Good walls make good neighbors. Didn’t that poet guy Frost say something like that?
On the other hand , bad neighbors may meet up with our friend in the picture. Good luck wid dat, sucka. We’re trying anger management with him but to no avail so far. Dude is angry.

Does anyone know the rationale for the fence panel design? So they can still pass drugs through the fence?

Thanks for your posts/pics/videos on this subject. Looks like progress is being made. Can't wait until this fall when the contracts are let and the ball (fence) really gets rolling!
Anxious for Arizona as I used to live there and have loved ones there. Boy, the stories they could tell...

The advantage is that drug mules can hand any amount of drugs off going right through it.
Hell, they could make a conveyor belt or an auger for the exact width.

So that agents can see the people on the other side, and know when they are throwing things at them.
They can also see if they are armed.
I think it’s probably the best wall they came up with.

I understand skepticism, but I have reached the point I just don’t even read those threads anymore.
There is a concentrated form of pessimism that some people seem to like to wallow in, the way it is said some Russians take a perverse pleasure in sadness.
Skepticism is fine, but at some point it is counterproductive mental well-being.
