On June 28, in the main courtroom of Charlottesville’s federal courthouse, U.S. Attorney Thomas T. Cullen rose to his feet. It had been nearly two years since white supremacists brawled with counterprotesters at a violence-filled rally nearby; now, standing still and stoic, the tall, lean Cullen addressed the court regarding the sentencing of James Fields Jr. At the rally in August 2017, Fields, 22, had driven his Dodge Challenger into a crowd of peaceful protesters, maiming many and killing one. Having been convicted on federal hate crimes charges, Fields deserved nothing less than life in prison, Cullen argued.
From the courtroom’s wooden benches, Fields’s victims — who had come to testify about their broken bones, broken spirits and broken marriages; their lasting fear of cars, loud noises and even the light of day — listened intently. Never mind the defendant’s age and appeal for mercy, Cullen said. Hadn’t he described those who disagreed with his views as “monkeys,” “subspecies,” “kikes” and more on his social media accounts? Never mind his claim that he’d acted on impulse and without premeditation, that he’d had mental health problems. “We all face mental health issues,” Cullen pointed out, “but troubled people don’t just commit acts of mass murder or domestic terrorism.”
U.S. District Judge Michael Urbanski agreed. Fields stared blankly before him as his sentence was handed down: life in prison without parole. At the prosecution table, Cullen, his face set in its resting scowl, nodded briefly but didn’t look up from the notes he was jotting on his legal pad.
It was a win, but only a first step...

Charlottesville was an elaborately staged play.
It has been the centerpiece of driving the “white supremacist” narrative.
They want to make it impossible to defend our sovereignty and our history.
PDJT is fighting hate and division.
He isn’t going to jail because he is a white supremist but because of his crime.

He’s an unsympathetic person who would be easy to convict just to make an example of him. Needed: a comprehensive, objective, factual, and lawyerly analysis of the evidence used to convict him. A project for Anne Coulter?
For a long time they were calling them White Nationalists which no one really knew what that meant. Now it is White supremacists.
I suspect both terms are false.
The left hijacked what was originally a preservationist protest of the removal of statues.
They turned it into a “white supremacist” rally and then got Antifa to show up and pushed the two groups together intentionally.

Seems pretty clear to me. I don't know if Charlottesville was staged or not, but using a crisis as pretext to create a simplistic and false propaganda narrative, to promote a real political agenda, has been around since the beginning of time.
They need to put ANTIFA in prison!!! They are a terrorist organization.. They are the old Earth First group who terrorized the University of Washington and burned part of the laboratories and set the animals free.. They were ECO Terrorist that burned logging equipment!

Prediction: this guy will do a few years and walk. No one will tack on an extra 4 centuries to his sentence even though he gruesomely killed two people.
Then, fringe groups of both Antifa types and white supremacists showed up and disrupted everything, leading to violent clashes between the two groups. Of course, this all occurred while the Charlottesville police stood idly by, as ordered, and did nothing to restore civility.
When it was all over, the usual suspects on the left and in the media just started portraying the whole thing as, “A bunch of white supremacists showed up, and when opposed by peace-loving leftists (though they certainly didn’t refer to them as leftists) the evil white supremacists, Trump supporters all, began attacking the peaceful innocents, even running one over with a car.”
Unless I’ve misremembered something, that’s about what I recall. The true events bore zero resemblance to the propaganda regularly spewed regarding Charlottesville.
Notice how they are labelled as counter protesters, not Antifa, not radical communists etc?

You remember correctly. Historians to preserve memorials became white supremacists. Since then, Trump supporters are white supremacists. Patriots are white supremacists. Those with differing view points are white supremacists. The list goes on.....
