Ideally I’d keep Rs in charge of congress, and if Trump signs this red flag bill into law, turn him out of office in 2020.
The Obama years prove that Republican congress fights for us when there is a dem president. They don’t actually care about us, mind you, it’s just how they drum up votes. If Trump follows through, I will be voting accordingly.

Apparently the left’s propaganda campaign of demoralization is working. I myself plan to crawl over broken glass if necessary to vote for Trump and Republicans downticket, and I can be one of the strongest critics of hypocritical, do -nothing, weak as well water RINOs. But not only is their strength in numbers, but the GOP tends to bolster itself when they have good majorities, and certainly President Trump will be in a position of strength if he gets re-elected, I can just hear him thinking “Katy bar the door”, because after all, he’s not a career politician, being a politician wasn’t his life-long ambition, he just stepped up when we needed him, and I doubt he has long-term plans to remain in politics after his second term ends. Where could go that would be higher? He needs this second term, with a GOP majority in both houses, so he can cut loose.

LOL. The Dems are already stomping on our 1st amendment rights while the GOPe does NOTHING about it but continue cashing their checks from google and Fakebook.
Why should expect the 2A be any different for the GOP? They are statists at heart and are just fine with our 2A rights being snuffed out. It’s a fools errand expecting the progressive-corportists who run the GOP will defend us against rampaging Democrats. They simply have no interest in that.
Yeah sure, let the Dems get elected instead because they will protect the 2A.

I’m with you 100% mrsmel! I’ll be crawling alongside...LOL...even to vote for GOPers I don’t particularly like. What people here don’t realize is that it’s all a numbers game, and we have to have the numbers to support Trump.
That said, I’m in Europe now, where I travel fairly often and have (conservative) friends, and you cannot believe the nonsense that even my conservative friends believe about Trump and the things he has said or done. The international press is doing us enormous damage because they take all of their marching orders from the NYT, which they seem to believe is some kind of beacon of truth. Disgusting.

Remember when we had that great majority, when Newt Gingrich came up with the Contract With America? I know that not much came of it, but something is better than nothing, even if that something is just to hold what we have now. It sure beats the “progress” that the “progressives” will inflict upon us if we don’t get majorities and President Trump re-elected.
The GOP will know that it has no excuses, nowhere to hide, if they get majorities in both houses and Trump as second term president. That’s of course never stopped them from doing nothing before, but at least they’re out in the open, and the career politicians (almost all of them except Trump) have further ambitions in politics, so they have to take at least some of the conservative agenda into account. If we can just stave off things like amnesty, more gun control, etc, for a while longer, that would be something.
