Police have problems with people who dont look like them, eh, obama?
So by his statement, all the affirmative action hires of blacks, hispanics, and women, they all have problems with white guys. HMMM.
I think hes just refuted stupid policies that prevent hiring candidates based on ability and instead on their skin color and what gender bits they have.
The left never realizes that Cop’s don’t prevent crime.
Cops are the last link in the long chain of societal behavior.
The RATS never want to fix the problem....THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.
Bookmarked
Yes. Cops ARE a problem.
This uniformed clown killed a woman while trying to kill her dog. Her non-threatening dog.
It’s right there on his body cam.
He ought to be facing manslaughter charges.
But chances are the worst thing that will happen is firing - and that’s even unlikely.
The local police and sheriffs are fine. If not, the voters will vote out sheriffs and enough pressure can be put on the mayor and alderman to get out a bad local chief.
The federal police ARE the problem. They operate in secret and have no real external controls. Trump has no real control over the DOJ and police state agencies. They are run by the deep state.
I like Clarke in general, but some bad apples have definitely spoiled my barrel of trust in LEO.
The killing of Idaho rancher Jack Yantis is one glaring example of the bad policing, training and tactics that has become so prevalent that it has now even filtered down into small rural counties.
The FBI is the motherlode of arrogant and unconstitutional LEO activity.
I have bad news for you. The Jack Yantis killing shows that bad training and bad tactics are filtering down even into the most rural departments.
It’s a crying shame.
So because there are a few out of every batch we cast that guilt upon all? In the Marines we called it the 10%. Im certain that less than that is an issue within the police force across the country.
They are part of the problem
That cop writing a speeding ticket for someone going 35 in 25 knows dam well he isn’t writing that ticket because he is concerned for safety, he’s writing it to collect money for the town.
Throw in letting his friends who do the same or worse off and padding any stop with extra tickets to ensure the driver will take the plea bargain instead of fighting adds to the corruption.
And they know knows what they are is doing is corrupt and bull and hurting otherwise innocent law abiding citizens, yet they do it anyhow. What does that say about their morals?
I admire and respect Sheriff Clarke.
His words here are true and correct.
But can someone please explain how a cop shooting at a dog accidently kills a woman just lying on the grass instead?
If you can, then I have hundreds of other similar instances that need explaining.
So the police got mad, not at the corrupt cop, but the DA who dared charge him.
True - but in the Marines the 10% were held accountable. They weren't allowed to get away with manslaughter and then wonder why people don't trust them.
I don't cast negativity over all police.
However, if they won't punish those guilty of wrongdoing, if they defend and whitewash overt wrongdoing - particularly if the average citizen would be facing jail time?
Then, they're no better than the offenders.
Stories abound of dumb cops doing dumb things. It happens. It happens in every profession.
What's appalling is when some dumb cop does something dumb and then walks, and in tow are all the others acting like they're above law, and all the boot lickers claiming cops can do no wrong. That's where the public's trust in the police begins to erode, and the cops who cover up and allow it have no one to blame but themselves.
Ferguson? I saw nothing wrong with what the cop did; same with countless other incidents. I generally withhold judgment until I see the video and/or the evidence presented.
Watch the video. This jackass fired his weapon with casuals (whom he was supposed to be conducting a welfare check on) within his line fire. He popped off those shots without aiming, at an unsafe distance, in an unsafe direction while running backward.
Sure looks like negligent homicide to me.
Let me ask you this - had it been you in a deployed environment and negligently killed an Afghan or Iraqi civilian in the same scenario - how long do you think it would be before you were standing before the man?
I had to deal with plenty of shitbirds in the Marines. I wasn't in the habit of covering up for them, or excusing their shitbird behavior. I never wanted my unit(s) to be associated with shitbirds.
So why defend this officer's actions?
The police are highly subject to PC and as such are part of the problem. When cops are assulted and they don’t know enough to call the paddy wagon...then there is a very big very scary problem.
The murder of Daniel Shaver proves this entire article wrong.
There are unfortunately many, many others that make that article meaningless.
Is this worth a ping?
Don’t forget the murder of Daniel Shaver.
