ustin Walker, who vigorously advocated for the U.S. Supreme Court confirmation of his former boss, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, drew pointed questions Wednesday during a Senate hearing on his own federal court nomination after the American Bar Association deemed him “not qualified” for the bench.
Walker, 37, a litigator at Dinsmore & Shohl who also teaches at Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, was tapped by President Donald Trump for a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. A former clerk to Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, Walker also clerked for Justice Anthony Kennedy. “The ABA rated you unqualified because of your experience level. I respect the ABA a lot, but to me it’s a question all of us will have to answer. Why are you qualified to be a judge?” Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsay Graham, R-South Carolina, said at Walker’s confirmation hearing.

Tell me ABA is not political. They were co-opted by the liberal left years ago. But to kind of PRETEND they are apolitical, they do not reject EVERY nominated jurist of originalist leanings, they only pick on three or four out of ten to declare their “unfitness” for the bench.
But in living memory, the ABA has NEVER declared even a rabidly revisionist judicial candidate as “unfit” to fill the office.
Does everyone under age 37 or with a comparable experience level get rated "unqualified" or only those who might be conservative? Just asking.
Back in the early 1960s, my father had no legal background or training whatsoever. But the town asked him to serve as Justice of the Peace (which included judge duties) because he was the only one in town with a college degree.
Remember, the ABA has no power to approve of any nomination. They are a union organization of lawyers. And a politically corrupt structure.
News Flash, very few cases go to trial anymore. So to be a federal judge he should have taken a few $500 drunk driving cases?
Hahahahaha...the fact that he “noted” that to his questioners is reason enough to show he is qualified, IMO!
So will likely all boil down to whether or not Romney and the weak sisters are troubled by the ABA rejection.
The ABA should have no authority to control an appointment.
Like the AMA who acts for all doctors, but most doctors don’t belong because it is expensive. The AMA is also a political organization lobbying for doctors.
They don’t have any authority. Its the fault of people like Lindsey Graham for putting any stock in their recommendations.
American Bar Association reopens Kavanaugh evaluation

WASHINGTON — The nation’s largest legal organization is reopening its evaluation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh based on his performance during a Senate hearing last week.
The American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary said Friday it’s revisiting its evaluation based on “new information of a material nature regarding temperament.”
Correct. Lawyers taking care of fellow bureaucraps.
I just went online and took a sample bar exam.....I passed with flying colors....I don’t have a law degree
