Proud of Shep Smith for figuring out that if corporations are taxed more (tariffs on 'made in China' goods in this case), they pass it on to the consumers.

Now, cut the corp tax rate to zero as Trump said he wanted to do and it'll save us all a pile of money.

By the way, wonder when Shep will figure out how stupid it was to shift all our manufacturing jobs and technology to China in the first place?

“wonder when he’ll figure out how stupid it was to shift all our manufacturing jobs to China in the first place?”

He’ll never figure it out because he doesn’t want to. The peasants must depend on our betters.

Jim,

I was Purchasing Mgr. for one of the very large Silicon Valley High-Tech companies about 15 years ago when all of this crap started. My job, for a multi-billion dollar enterprise was to “outsource” everything possible to China. I understand that now my purchasing staff does their job flying back and forth to China making sure that the stuff they’ve purchased meets specifications and is on-time. And the marching orders I received were the same across the whole high-tech sector. They are all anti-American, everything for a buck companies to this day, so Facebook, Google, etc. are just software spinoffs from this pack of crooks!

My slightly different take on this is that there should be zero personal income tax on wages, a reasonable tax on capital gains and dividends, a corporate income tax, and tariffs. People who complain about tariffs offsetting the good of tax cuts...well until federal spending is cut, taxes need to pay the bills. I prefer tariffs to income taxes anyway. And likewise, prefer corporate income tax over personal.

Don’t expect Faux News to tackle that.

Don't stop with the Democrats. There wasn't a Republican talking about trade policy before Trump. And they haven't exactly been supportive of Trump's tariffs.

Trump is an army of one on trade policy. Everyone else is hiding in the bunkers.

Yeah, I can see that. Eliminate the personal income tax and pay all taxes when you buy goods.

'There wasn't a Republican talking about trade policy before Trump.'

That was Buchanan. He had to leave the GOP because of trade policy and being against illegal immigration. Perot had to run as a independent because the GOP didn't give a dam.

Considering every last one of the quislings in congress, the media, the elite, the ruling class, Radio Talk Show Hosts!,...All were in favor of NAFTA and preached to the country how great it would be for the newly unemployed Americans. He knows it already, They ALL KNOW IT!, but they don’t care, anything they can do to to destroy this country and advance the globalist agenda is just fine and dandy.

That’s true. Patrick Buchanan called this out decades ago. He called out the problems immigration would cause Europe if they didn’t fix it too.

Unfortunately, he’s still too stupid to realize that the tariffs can be avoided by consumers by buying from a different country. Hmmmm.

I lament the fact that most Americans are unable to make that association themselves. Even a kid with a lemonade stand knows that the cost of doing business, whether materials or overhead (including taxes), has to be passed on to the consumer to generate a profit.
