Yep, the opening salvo needs to be big and clear cut, not a technicality.
Again with the empty promises.
JoMa
That depends on ones definition of skate.
FBI = America’s political secret police.
Agree 100%. It’s been obvious the fix is in since Sessions recused and Rotten Rod appointed the godfather of Comey’s child Mueller. Sessions should have been removed and Mueller fired at that point but the GOP publicly threatened a GOP POTUS not to do that. Everything since then has been beltway theater.
“Im starting to think everyone is just being manipulated with this drama to distract us from the...”
You are thinking along the correct lines. Always assume everything you are told is misdirection..an attempt to manipulate or distract. As CIA director William Casey said: “We will know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”
I would like to believe that, but, I will believe it when I see it.
This was not Comey's first rodeo; he was the frickin' FBI director and spent years in the swamp.
He leaked the contents of a presidential conversation (and evidence derived from an intelligence investigation) to the media in order to trigger a Special Counsel.
That information is confidential, BY DEFINITION. He's been trained to know that. Period.
If douchebags like Comey don't have to obey the law, why do I?
Is “lack of candor” a charge for regular folks?
There’s that intent word again. It’s not about intent, the act itself is prosecutable.
“Dont expect the cases to get any stronger from here.”
Disagree 100%. US Attorney John Durham continues his work into SpyGate.
He’s not finding any such shortage of evidence. Obviously.

Plenty of low hanging fruit here. Is Durham isn’t picking and indicting it? Nope. The contrast with the Mueller Coup couldn’t be any more striking. Sorry.
He just can't find any intent, so the dems are all safe.

Are you a federal prosecutor? How would you know what US Attorney John Durham is or isn’t doing?
I’ll take the ongoing investigation as evidence enough and await a professional outcome.
Yeah, party immunity isn’t going to hold up. Let’s see how the rest of the year develops. There’s more not less coming on the SpyGate front.
when you strike at the king don’t fail...ooops no harm no foul..no intent..lol..of course there was intent look how he did it..you or me swat team, solitary confinement etc..
we shall see soon enough, but i doubt comey goes unpunished one way or another..same with the rest of the coup..Trump has to realize patriots are demanding justice, so don’t throw them cake crumbs..once it becomes clear there will be no justice, heaven help us..
If it was a strong case, say Comey leaked the same phots of the inside of a nuclear sub that "Hannity's sailor" did - Comey would likely be charged with that, and late, if a different violation was found, he be indicted on that charge too.
Each case stands on its own evidence and fact pattern.
The thorn in the sedition case is that that the crime of sedition requires advocating or perpetrating violence.
The thorn in the treason case is not being at war.
Yes. Absolutely. "Lack of candor" is synonymous with "false statements," 18 USC 1001. There are condictions for being a crime - you can lie that you had diet Coke even if you had the non-diet variety. The false statement has to be material, and the person giving it has to know it is a false statment, for example.
Comey gave false statements to investigators. OIG reports are LOADED with liars who are not prosecuted for lying, so Comey isn;t getting any more special treatment here than any other member of the FBI (or other government employee, espcially thoseunder DOJ umbrella) would get.
But as you note, if you are not on the "us" side of "them and us," you'd get hammered with an indictment. Bigtime double standard. It is the way the world has always been. "Rule of law" is a lie, always has been a lie, and you have to be really naive to believe that BS coming from people in law enforcement and judicial branches. They are special, you are not.
True but we don’t know how this I’ll be tackled. Too soon in the John Durham “review.”
