At least three mass shootings of this scale occur daily across the country in democrat controlled major cities without national news coverage...
Santa Clara Coroner now dispatched to Gilroy to declare people dead, etc.

Given the size of that event, I would bet Homeland Security already had an operations center with the local police already in place. The shooter should not get far.
Shooter was in his 30’s (no ethnicity given) and apparently came to the festival in order to shoot:
He was wearing what one witness described as a protective vest (note - some mag vests do resemble ballistic vests, though).
People doing yardwork nearby permitted festival stranger go’ers to take refuge inside of their homes.
Feds were tipped off about possible shooting videostream, presumably streamed by the shooter..? Unclear & unconfirmed.

Many people stuck at Gavillan College, drove from far away, yet their cars are stuck at the festival, can’t get back in there cuz LEO’s, fear, risk, traffic jam, etc.
Lady made eye contact with shooter, “He looked like he wanted to kill as many people as possible.”

Officials and eyewitness accounts confirmed a shooting and multiple victims at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Christmas Hill Park. The New York Times has confirmed with Gilroy councilman Dion Bracco that there were three fatalities and 12 injuries as a result of the shooting. NBC Bay Area has reported that there were 16 people shot at the festival.
Christopher Salas, an anchor and reporter for the radio station, wrote on Twitter that he confirmed with Central Coast Police that as many as 60 people were injured in the incident, but not necessarily all of the injuries were caused by a shooter.

Really hard to get accurate details of casualties, or even number of shooters. I’ve seen some discussion on Facebook that there were two.
The police presence is enormous and they’re calling the situation still “active”.
