Eleven people have reportedly been hurt during an active shooter situation at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California.
Emergency personnel flocked to the scene at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, outside Santa Cruz, at around 6pm Sunday as the annual festival was finishing up its third and final day.
Police have not confirmed the number of fatalities or injuries, but ambulance crews were reportedly told 11 people were down and a Central Coast Police Officer told KSBW that as many as 60 were injured in the mayhem.
A spokeswoman for Santa Clara Valley Medical Center said at least five gunshot victims had been taken to the hospital. Their conditions were unknown.
It is unclear whether any suspects have been arrested as the scene is still active.

'What's going on?' a woman can be heard asking in one clip. 'Who'd shoot up a garlic festival?'
Several witnesses reported hearing popping noises and then seeing a man in military fatigues spraying the crowd with bullets from a semi-automatic weapon.

Suspect was in cammo, carrying assault rifle, shooting in an apparently random manner.
In one clip, I heard what was very clearly short, controlled, full auto bursts, or maybe the effect of slide-stock (now illegal).

Gilroy grows some of the best garlic in the world. What kind of axe could this nut have possibly had to grind? Whatever it was, I doubt that it was a culinary one. China outproduces Gilroy in garlic, but Chinese garlic is inferior.

One woman was shot in the back but was talking.
We heard 40-50 shots, then a pause. Then we heard shooting again.
