Why was he taking the kids to day care in the first place? Why didn’t one of the parents, preferably the mom, stay home and raise them?
I moved out of NY when real estate prices started soaring. I was paying 28% tax rate if IRC.
We live in a little house good neighborhood married a good provider.
Would not dream of, cant imagine not staying home with kids. One year old kids look for their moms all day long. When they dont find her on a chronic basis the grow up to be robotic silly incapable emotionally dysfunctional people. Otherwise known as snowflakes
The mother is not off the hook
I honestly think of some of the stupid things Ive done because my mind was on something else....but for the grace of God go I. His whole life has been destroyed!!!!

Im with you in the but for the grace of God go I understanding. That familys life has been devastated.

I thank God that nothing tragic happened to my kids growing up—it could have. I am sure he wishes he was the dead one.
I left my sleeping infant in the car for a few minutes while i was shopping. My first kid, ya know. I realized the front of the buggy looked a lil empty, so i went back out, halfway through my shopping.
She was just 2 weeks old, I hadn’t gotten into the mommy routine.
A sleeping kid in the backseat. Mercy on this guy.. he will be more totured than ever, as if wars weren’t enough.
Do you call around checking up on your husband for absolutely everything?
When I had a one year old I checked up on that kid for absolutely everything all day long every day.
They already have, many accusing him of actual murder.
I think yours is an excellent reply.
i guess so....but what makes the dad untrustworthy? Maybe i missed something but there’d be no reason to think he could not perform the simple task “drop the kids off on the way to work today”
Disclaimer: I never worked when my kiddos were little girls, so maybe it’s tougher than i imagine. Drive to daycare. Get kids out of car. Go to work. To me that’s simple.
...simplest solution is to tie a dummy cord to you and the babys car seat.
Problem with this solution is that in doing so you have to realize how bad your parenting is. Then mom has to stay home, you then have to downsize real estate move out of New York then listen to mom whine about how hard it is to raise kids for the next- rest of your life
Thank you. Either I’m losing my touch or FReepers have become more reasonable over the years.
I know some women who pay as much in day care expenses as they make at their job.
That makes no sense to me. It’s almost as if they do this because it is what is expected nowadays. Career first. There seems to be some shame to be called a stay at home mom.
excruciating on so many levels.
I’m not one to hammer on you. On a recent trip we read two road signs saying to put kids in the back seat. I could not figure out why. If safely strapped in, I cannot see the difference. Then what about a pickup truck that does not have a second seat in the rear?
This is a rotten affair all the way around. Of course it’s sad the kids had to die. But it is also sad this guy had a mental disconnect and simply forgot about them.
As a vet, I can understand this guys disconnect. I used to have them and called them “mental skips”. This man now has double the mental torture. The hell of war going on inside his head, and now being the cause of his own kids deaths.
kinda. I never worked when the kids were little and then when older, only part time. People assumed my husband was a controlling monster, but I’m grateful i never HAD to work.
Kinda sorry I did not work MORE now that we’re old people, cause if I had to go get a crappy job now I would be sad.
I am somewhat of an inventor and have experience with patents. I did a simple patent search entering the words car seat and alarm. It came back with 653 related patents. Automobile and companies making child related products spend a fortune on research and development. Whether or not something gets manufactured very simply boils down to Dollars and cents. I am willing to bet that there is a product that does what you have in mind. I’m going to Google it and get right back to you
General Motors Rear Seat Reminder. Lot of models including Malibu and Acadia. Available for several years.
I read your post 41—you are well named.
The difference is that you checked on your kid yourself—not checking on your husband as a way to check on your kid.
On the whole, opting to keep the kid home is safer, even if it is harder.
Yup. There it is. Crap. There goes my spiff.
Who doesnt notice things in the backseat EVERY time they leave the car? I mean...really?
So its been proven THATS why this tragedy happened?
