A year after quitting his job reviewing some of the most gruesome content the internet has to offer, Lester prays every week that the images he saw can be erased from his mind.
First as a contractor for YouTube and then for Twitter, he worked on a high-up floor of a mall in this traffic-clogged Asian capital, where he spent up to nine hours each day weighing questions about the details in those images. He made decisions about whether a child's genitals were being touched accidentally or on purpose, or whether a knife slashing someone's neck depicted a real-life killing - and if such content should be allowed online.

And, apparently, conservative websites and content are at the top of the hit list.
Many years ago, before youtube clamped down on it, I DID see a couple of beheadings and other gruesome stuff.
Fortunately I'm addlepated and CRS, but there is the hint of a picture inside that will never go away.
Does it affect me ?
I don't think so ... I still have family and friends and I still love life and all in life I love, but we are not all the same.
This post is no different than any other post that tenderly deals with sorrow from the death of a loved one, or the ones left behind because of suicide, or even the world news of what Argentina has become of North Korea is.
Lighten up, Francis.
The woman needs some SEVERE punishment for participating in such an incident.
How much nastiness comes from anonymous sources?
To me, web anonymity lets sleaze propagate immensely. Like porn much less porn when they had to drive to and walk into a porn shop.
Require our real names be attached to social media and SM will die in a week. Same for newspapers anonymous hotlines. Same here, too.
You’re right. I only posted that response because these stories are popping up now trying to engender sympathy for youtube and facebook. IMHO it’s the propaganda machine ramping up to protect Alphabet and Facebook from the baclash that is coming.
