Michael Horowitz, the inspector general for the Department of Justice, is slated to file his report on FISA abuses during the Obama administration by September. It was pushed back due to ex-MI6 spook Christopher Steele agreeing to be interviewed by investigators. Of course, that means everything else collected thus far had to be re-reviewed per usual. Steele is the former British intelligence operative who compiled the infamous Clinton campaign-funded dossier, aka the Trump dossier, which was largely unverified and totally debunked by the report filed by ex-Special Counsel Robert Mueller who looked into Russian collusion. From the looks of it, and by that I mean the glaring errors that could’ve been caught by a simple Google search, the document was not verified but cited as credible in a spy warrant against former Trump campaign official Carter Page. This is what Horowitz is looking into and it’s said to be scorching. Now, Paul Sperry of Real Clear Investigations writes that we may have some nuggets dropping prior to the release of the full report, which states that former FBI Director James Comey had an agent conducting surveillance within the White House, that he wasn’t forthright with Trump about the investigation, and it appears he was running a covert operation against the president. This is deep state antics, folks. I mean isn’t this spying? And all of it happened under the Obama administration. It looks like Comey was trying to put a plan into motion that would be aimed at stopping the Trump presidency, something revealed through a text message from fired and disgraced former FBI Agent Peter Strzok (via Real Clear Investigations):
Sources tell RealClearInvestigations that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will soon file a report with evidence indicating that Comey was misleading the president. Even as he repeatedly assured Trump that he was not a target, the former director was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent.Two U.S. officials briefed on the inspector general’s investigation of possible FBI misconduct said Comey was essentially “running a covert operation against” the president, starting with a private “defensive briefing” he gave Trump just weeks before his inauguration. They said Horowitz has examined high-level FBI text messages and other communications indicating Comey was actually conducting a “counterintelligence assessment” of Trump during that January 2017 meeting in New York.
In addition to adding notes of his meetings and phone calls with Trump to the official FBI case file, Comey had an agent inside the White House who reported back to FBI headquarters about Trump and his aides, according to other officials familiar with the matter.

…former FBI counterintelligence agent and lawyer Mark Wauck said, the FBI lacked legal grounds to treat Trump as a suspect. “They had no probable cause against Trump himself for ‘collusion’ or espionage,” he said. “They were scrambling to come up with anything to hang a hat on, but had found nothing.”
What remains unclear is why Comey would take such extraordinary steps against a sitting president. The Mueller report concluded there was no basis for the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theories.

Republicans including House Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Devin Nunes believe that Comey, like his top counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, was attempting to “stop” the Trump presidency for political reasons.

At the same time Comey was personally scrutinizing the president during meetings in the White House and phone conversations from the FBI, he had an agent inside the White House working on the Russia investigation, where he reported back to FBI headquarters about Trump and his aides, according to officials familiar with the matter. The agent, Anthony Ferrante, who specialized in cyber crime, left the White House around the same time Comey was fired and soon joined a security consulting firm, where he contracted with BuzzFeed to lead the news site's efforts to verify the Steele dossier, in connection with a defamation lawsuit.
Knowledgeable sources inside the Trump White House say Comey carved out an extraordinary new position for Ferrante, which allowed him to remain on reserve status at the FBI while working in the White House as a cybersecurity adviser.

In his memoir, Comey said he flew to New York on Jan. 6, 2017, to give the president-elect a private “defensive briefing” — to "tell him what Russia had done to try to help elect him.”
But there was more to it than that, in light of Comey’s meeting in the Oval Office the day before with Obama, Biden and the other Cabinet officials. Their plan to brief Trump, which Obama approved, included disclosing allegations from the dossier about the president-elect.
As the top law enforcement official in the room, Comey was chosen to confront Trump with "the material" that accused him of being compromised by Russia and engaging in a criminal conspiracy with Moscow to hack the election. The morning before flying to New York, Comey met at FBI headquarters with a group of counterespionage officials and agents who were read in on the plan — code-named the “sensitive matter team” — for an update on the allegations against Trump and the overall Russia investigation.
It’s a lengthy piece, but Sperry adds that Comey didn’t inform Trump about a lot concerning the dossier. One specific example was his failure to tell Trump that Michael Flynn was under investigation, among many, many other things. Spies in the White House, obfuscating the truth concerning the dossier with the then-president-elect, and people wonder if the Democrats are freaking out. They are. They have to be; all of this was supposed to have been swept under the rug because Hillary was going to win, right? Wrong. A lot of dirty laundry is about to be aired, folks. And it looks very disturbing…if you’re a left-wing resistance crackpot.

Some people are suggesting that the funding and building plan for the FBI’s facility is a shuffle to a different concept....to take around half of the 8,500 employees in the present structure or around DC, and move them out (beyond the shadow of DC).
This organization that they placed in Huntsville, Ala...would be an example of that. The talk is that if half of the group were not in DC, then you’d only need a building about half the size of the present structure.
Remember that Mueller's target, Gen Fynn, was her replacement.......PLUS Biden is also mentioned in Rice's infamous memo. When Susan Rice stupidly wrote the memo to herself, she inadvertently confessed to a series of crimes that added the time line and inferences about what the outgoing Obama administration illegally concealed from incoming President Trump and his aides. WHY SUSAN RICE WROTE AN EMAIL TO HERSELF........the extraordinary email Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote to herself at 12:15 on January 20, 2017........within minutes of President Trump’s inauguration must have been her last act, more or less, before she vacated the White House. So obviously the email was important to her. But why would it be important to send an email to herself (the only person copied was one of her aides)?
At firt glance it is obviously a CYA memo. But the question is, whose A is being C’d? Most attention, so far, has focused on the first two paragraphs, which describe a meeting that occurred around two weeks earlier.

Rice made sure to underscore that Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book”.
Rice writes Obama stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.
This is pure boilerplate.
It represents, obviously, the company line. But Rice did not write her email to cover Barack Obama’s rear end. If she or anyone else had wanted to document the claim that Obama said to proceed “by the book,” the appropriate course would have been an official memo that copied others who were present and would have gone into the file. (My guess is that such a memo was written, but we haven’t seen it.)
The important part of the email is not the paragraph that purports to exonerate Obama, but the paragraphs that follow: “From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.”
The next paragraph of the email remains classified and has been redacted. The email concludes: The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.
Rice was also nervous about the fact that, at the president’s direction, she had failed to “share information fully as it relates to Russia” with President Trump’s incoming national security team.
Her actions violated longstanding American tradition. Outgoing administrations have always cooperated in the transition to a new administration, whether of the same or the opposing party, especially on matters relating to national security.
Susan Rice is far from the brightest bulb on the tree, but she was well aware that by concealing facts ostensibly relating to national security from her counterpart in the new administration–General Michael Flynn–she was, at a minimum, violating longstanding civic norms.
If she actually lied to Flynn, she could have been accused of much worse. So Rice wanted to be able to retrieve her email, if she found herself in a sticky situation, and tell the world that she hid relevant facts about Russia from the new administration on Barack Obama’s orders.
What were the secrets that Obama wanted to keep from the new administration? We can easily surmise that the fact that the Steele memo was paid for by the Democratic Party; that the FBI had to some degree collaborated with Steele; that the Clinton campaign had fed some of the fake news in the dossier to Steele; and that Comey’s FBI had used Steele’s fabrications as the basis for FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign were among the facts that Obama and his minions didn’t want Michael Flynn and Donald Trump to know. Susan Rice, we can infer, was told to keep these secrets, and if anyone ever asked why she had failed to disclose them to Michael Flynn and others on Trump’s team, or even lied to those people, she would have the defense that President Obama ordered her to do it.
There may be more to it than this. The redacted paragraph likely contains more information about what it was that Rice wasn’t supposed to tell the Trump team. One of these days, we will learn what was blacked out.
The fact that Michael Flynn was Susan Rice’s counterpart in the incoming administration may also be significant. We know that the FBI agents who interviewed General Flynn–even Peter Strzok!–reported that they didn’t think he had lied about anything.
And yet, Obama’s DOJ and Bob Mueller’s “investigation”–basically a continuation of Obama’s corrupt Department of Justice under another, less accountable name–persecuted Flynn to the point where he finally pled guilty to a single count of lying to the FBI in order, as he says, to end the madness and the financial drain.
Why were the Democrats so determined to discredit General Flynn? Perhaps because they wanted to pre-empt any outrage that may otherwise have followed on revelations that the Obama administration’s National Security Advisor hid important facts from her successor during the transition, and may have lied to him about those facts, in violation of all American tradition.

Without hard evidence and prosecutions, this is pretty much all “point of view” stuff anyway. Comey thinks he is protecting our Country from Russian hands, and others think he is attempting a soft coup. That makes the game only about narrative and unfortunately the cards are stacked against us on winning that contest.
To wit, the experts at narrative are all ginned up for another big day today.
I agree with you. The release of the IG report is a joke at this point. One excuse after another why it hasn’t come out yet. Personally, I will view it as a myth for now.
Law enforcement, the CIA, the FBI, even your local police, lie with impunity. They consider it part of thier job. Nevermind that if you lie to them it is a crime.
This "Deep State" that you and others refer to is nothing more than our government. This is how it runs. What you "don't like" is what is seen when the lid over DC is peeled back and the first rays of sunlight reach down into that foul, putrid effluent. Just imagine what we would see if that lid were completely removed at high noon.
