Former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis is running for the U.S. House, hoping to unseat freshman U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, a Republican from Hays County, a congressional aide told the American-Statesman on Thursday.
The revelation ends months of speculation and sets the stage for what could be a high-profile duel in a congressional district national Democrats are aggressively targeting.

Is she going to primary challenge The Other Al Green in Houston? Sheila Jackson Lee? Castro?

She picked a district that we barely held in 2018 (by 3 points) - it has a big (but sparsely populated) rural area, but then reaches into both San Antonio and Austin. Looked designed to give Democrats a shot at the seat. While only 3% black, it is 30% Hispanic.
But maybe with Cruz not on the ballot, Republicans will not have a reason to leave the polling center early in 2020 or just not show up. Also, she’ll be hurt because we finally ended straight-ticket voting (only took 26 years of ‘Republican’ control of Texas to figure out that wasn’t working for us).
Women taking over and the End is near.
Truly, it won’t be long. A few decades left IMO before Jesus comes and takes us outta here and it all comes crashing down here on earth.
Even now, the Holy Spirit Who resides in God’s people is the only Thing holding together this world that is in critical condition and on life supports in the ICU. Once we’re gone, the world will be unrecognizable.
Let me guess her entire campaign will consist of screaming “racist” so all the conservatives piddle their pants instead of calling her out for her hateful political rhetoric?

Don’t know much about her so far, but I watched her in the Texas debate against Abbott when both ran for governor. She made herself look bad, she ran overtime by a lot on almost every question, ignored the time bell, they had to ring it 5 times on one question. Every time she would start with political rhetoric that was hard to follow, then meander into a personal attack against Abbott. None of her answers really made much sense, just political rambling really, hard to follow. Her “plan” to improve education left me wondering what the hell she just said...made no sense whatsoever.
To his credit Abbott refrained from the personal attacks and character assassinations and stuck to answering the questions, but did meander into political rhetoric a little now and then.
Davis made herself look really bad, especially by ignoring the time bell. When the debate ended the moderator, a woman, announced they had more questions, but were out of time, glaring at Davis and trying not to be obvious about it...
And so far, Abbott has been a pretty good governor. We now have open carry, a campaign promise he kept, an announcement was recently made that red light cameras are now banned in Texas, as of June 2, and he just also signed a bill that will reduce property taxes. He also signed a bill long ago that bans sanctuary cities and I think he’s sending Texas National Guard to the border.
Because nothing says competent leadership like precancerous facial melanocytes, pink tennis shoes and Foley leg bags. Apparently, she learned nothing from the 20-point seal slaughter meted out by Greg Abbott.

Hopefully she’ll get the same drubbing she got when she ran for Governor.

Williamson county was red, all the libs from Travis county are moving away from Austin.
