Old Election Cash Gives New Life to Some Democratic Presidential Candidates

WASHINGTON - Some Democratic presidential candidates are finding that their most generous donors are their old campaign accounts, Federal Election Commission reports show.

In the first half of the year, nine contenders - all but one of the senators and representatives seeking the White House - transferred more than $41 million from previous election bids to their presidential accounts. The transfers are giving them critical lifelines to compete in an expensive race in which the first caucuses and primaries aren’t until February.

Many of the candidates also have also worked to woo larger donors, the second-quarter reports show, even as they tout their small-donor efforts. Even so, about half of them burned through more money than they brought in between April and the end of June, the reports show.

New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s communications director said on Twitter that the Gillibrand campaign’s $8.2 million in the bank as of June 30 put her “in the TOP SIX for cash on hand.” Left unsaid: Ms. Gillibrand has raised $5.3 million between January and May and is being helped along by a $9.6 million transfer from her Senate campaign account.

All about the Benjamins, no?

Very much like government funding. A net deficit of 1.4 million by smoke and mirrors is presented as a sign of relative financial viability.

No doubt about it, money seems to be a very useful tool in this life. I don’t think, however, in the light of eternity it is always as useful and important as it may seem—but it still does have some importance.

Happy to see the libs burning cash. As Trump keeps building a war chest for the real fight. If you have a minute go over to the Trump re-election campaign and at minimum give them your contact info. They will use that data for get out the vote efforts and reminders. Also for those so inclined you can be a door knocker or campaign worker. Don’t doubt that the left is working to undermine the system and make it a democrat win. They hate Trump.

i.e. they’re burning through their “savings”.

I don’t think money really wins or loses elections as much as people think it does (at least up to a point), but the fact that they are not getting the donations is very telling.

The people they are pandering to (illegals and kids living in mom’s basement) don’t donate.
