Washington Post: Democrats should confront their revolutionaries before it’s too late
Washington Post ^ | July 16, 3019 | By Henry Olsen Columnist

Posted on 07/17/2019 12:21:29 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

It’s been decades since Democrats had to confront a genuine challenge from the far left...

The cracks in the party were most evident last week after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) casually deployed the race card against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). To be sure, Ocasio-Cortez’s side swipe — implying Pelosi singled her and her progressive allies out for criticism because they are women of color — was bad enough. But the real depth of the challenge Democrats face is better seen by looking at comments from Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti...

Observers may wonder why Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff are engaging in this internecine battle. From the viewpoint of the evolutionary left, such efforts are futile and self-defeating...

Chakrabarti let the cat out of the bag in a recent extensive profile in The Post magazine. According to the report, Chakrabarti told an aide for Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D), a presidential candidate, that his boss’s Green New Deal “wasn’t originally a climate thing at all.” “Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Chakrabarti says, “Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.” You can’t get much more revolutionary than that...

It’s no coincidence that the Green New Deal speaks as much about ensuring quality jobs and helping “frontline and vulnerable communities” as it does about reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also calls for an “economic mobilization on a scale not seen since World War II,” uprooting the U.S. economy with the government calling the shots...

If the entire U.S. economy must be uprooted — if the United States is inherently a “racist system” — then those who propose evolutionary change are as culpable as those who oppose any change at all. They must be opposed as strenuously...

It is what Dan Bongino has said repeatedly: Trump makes them show their...er...”butts”...

There is nothing they can do to shut these women up. Even instructing the media not to fawn all over them will not work because the media knows that Nancy is old and her power wanes.

That’s the one. Thanks for the pic.

Certainly, there are some in India who regard Bose as a hero. I watched a bio documentary of him on You Tube maybe a year ago. Not impressed — Gandhi didn’t impress me either. Read Richard Grenier’s “The Gandhi Nobody Knows.”

I can tell you who does impress me — the soldiers who defended Mother India from Japanese aggression. Especially the big tall Sikhs and the wiry little Madras Sappers and Miners.

Muslims love Marxism. Fascism, too. And totalitarianism.

Donald Trump is the man who removed the mask of the Democrat Party.

I believe this is a truly historical feat. No one else has done this ever to this party of snakes.

...
Nice wording...nailed it...post of the day.

Anyone smart here who can post the gif we need for Chris?

As if the Democrat party hasn't been gleefully racing the "far left" even further left just as fast as its little donkey hooves can take it. It hasn't "had" to confront the far left because it's in full agreement with them on where they're headed. They can't go back now; it'd be an admission of guilt, an admission that they've been wrong. Besides, why should they? They've succeeded in pulling nearly half of the country right along with them. They're almost there.

Yup, and AOC’s chief-of-staff/handler/braintrust, Saikat Chakrabarti, loves this fascist POS Bose. Trump has these foreign born or trained/bainwashed traitors pegged.

Todays Dem party is ‘not healthy’. Todays republican party is marginal at best.

************

The Republican Party does not, and never will, represent conservatives. We really do need a new party.

His parents are from Bengal and that is a major home of the communists in India. He’s a red diaper baby.

It’s kind of natural for politicians to want to be all thing to all the people. When you have a position that is cushy with all the bennies etc., you have an attitude that every vote counts. Therefore, you shouldn’t take unnecessary risk and be a nice baby holding type for voter acceptance reasons.

Didn't the demodorks learn anything letting middle easterners into the inner workings of congress with Debbie Downers Awan brothers fiasco ? At least they stole the congress computers and skedadled the country to sell them to the highest jihadi bidder.

So now comes Alex Occasionally Conscious and her middle/near east mole Saikat Chakrabarti who now also has his inside track to any data or security his 'boss' does. It's plain he is her boss as she hasn't the brains to think anything past her next bank deposit.

I argue against new parties. The Republican party needs to be taken back from within. New parties never win majorities, and dilute the possibility of a majority. One of the strengths and sources of stability of our system historically has been that we are a two party system. I often use Italy as an example of a multiparty system where nothing ever gets done because there is no majority, thus dysfunctional government. Of course all this relies upon the parties not being corrupt. If the representatives are not representing the people, then number of parties doesn’t matter. But still conservatives wont make any gains with a third party, just create more division and disunity.

The republican party did at one time represent smaller government. Not sure how to get that one back in the barn today.

I thought the main reason to allow immigrants from India was to fill healthcare and tech jobs — and run all-you-can-eat curry buffets.

I could use some chicken tikka masala just now. Mmmmmm ...

This Babu Chuckerbutty (namesake of a Kipling character, I believe) is a disgrace. Importing Left-wing loonies ... I don’t think that’s such a good idea.
