The speaker railed against Trump during Tuesday’s debate on the House floor, promising that her caucus would continue to respond to the “disrespect” aimed at the fundamental diversity of America. She accused the president of legitimizing and increasing “fear” and “hatred” against people of color and attempted to shame lawmakers who are dismissing the Democrats’ politically fueled resolution.

and of course the vote to take down Pelosi’s words is along party lines. It is no more about right and wrong, legal or illegal or even moral or immoral; its all about party power. The democrats are even more corrupt and unamerican than ever before. My side against your side and screw the American people who sent us here to represent them... if they thought that we would do that they are fools..... and I guess many of us are. We have to take back our government.

She probably did think she had the support, but regardless, what she said in criticism of Trump (calling him a racist) flouted procedural rules and it appears that the parliamentarian, who decides whether things are being done according to parliamentary rules, either agreed with the GOP objection or was about to do so. She would have been silenced for the rest of the day, so maybe she just decided to storm off to save face.

Cool. Now I am wondering things like who gets to pick the parliamentarian, and if he/she needs to worry about being “Seth Rich’ed” now....
Her political sense is usually better than this, but she chose poorly. Perhaps under fear that her Speakership could be challenged if she did not - just a wild guess. But you know she can read and knows how unpopular the Squad is, so why burn political capital instead of just swatting them down?
I’ll give them this: AOC has become the policy thought leader of the Democrat party in just 6 months and it sure looks like the Squad has done a hostile takeover of House Leadership, even thought they haven’t been elected to anything.
Think how great it would be if we had anti-GOPe upstarts in the House and Senate doing this to the likes of Romney, Cocaine Mitch, et al!
I remember when Reagan was told by the GOP leadership he had to toe the line.
