Jeffrey Epstein had fake passport, piles of cash and diamonds in home: prosecutors

NEW YORK — Accused pedophile Jeffrey Epstein kept a fake passport issued by a foreign country in the name of another person in a safe, along with piles of cash and dozens of diamonds, a prosecutor revealed Monday during a hearing on whether the sex offender should be granted bail.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex Rossmiller said the feds had learned of the contents of the safe hours before the hearing in Manhattan Federal Court. He cited the passport issued in the 1980s, which listed a residence in Saudi Arabia, as another example of why Epstein should remain locked up while awaiting trial for sex trafficking of underage girls.

I think in common, everyday conversation the dialog might go something like this:

“Honey, have you seen my Saudi passport, I’ve got the British and the American, but I can’t find the Saudi ...”

I wouldn’t give you two cents for his life if he gets out on bail.

He will get killed if he does. It will look like an accident or suicide but he will be dead in a week.

Then why is an ‘expired’ passport acceptable for I-9 confirmations?

First,I was talking about fake documents, not expired ones. Also,it's my understanding that expired documents, even when not fake, aren't good for much.Recently, when I was applying for a "Real ID" license I was required to bring a *current* passport.

[ Yeah, Epstein is likely a dead man walking. ]

If it looks like he’ll give any evidence on Bill (and by extension Hillary) it will certainly be a “tragic accident”.

And also, “unexpected”.

Because it will only go to confirm that it’s a good thing that Hillary lost in 2016. Not that we all didn’t know that already.

Jeff Epstein better talk fast, loud and often. Before it’s calculated that they’re better off with a dead man and evidence “lost” through a “a spontaneous tragic fire”.

Like with a cloth.

I don’t see how this could be double jeopardy. At first I did but there are new crimes and the plea deal he made was fraudulent. So there was no deal made.

A new law won’t fix it...you can’t retroactively enforce criminal laws like that.

it would have to be a law that covered current behavior. Like it’s now illegal to contact anyone you sexually abused in the past...then he contacts them and wammo it’s now illegal.

Right on the money. And didn’t the Supreme court just rule the feds could get a second bite at the apple in double jeopardy cases after a state has it’s shot? Also Andrew McCarthy is a never Trumper hack and a putz.

Doesn’t everyone keep fake passports issued by a foreign country in the name of another person in a safe, along with piles of cash and dozens of diamonds in a remote place?

Epstein will probably get bond no matter what the evidence against him is. He will then either disappear or expire -or both!

The most amazing part of this is that this POS wasn’t given a heads up from treasonous Deep Staters that he was about to go down giving him time to head to an non extradition country.

Ummm - issued with another name and by a foreign country - nothing to see here, move on along now - and forget all the other stuff that shows he has means and reasons to skip the country....

Former US Attorney Andy McCarthy was on Rush today, and made the argument that Epstein likely might get bail, if he has a reasonable claim of double jeopardy - which could go all the way to the Supreme Court, before any prosecution could even begin.

He has no claim of double jeopardy. The supreme court ruled on that issue less than a month ago. (A ruling I generally disagree with BTW). If he gets bail there is something seriously wrong. He is a major flight risk, with serious resources to enable him to flee.
