Asylum laws were written for the occasional Soviet athlete or airline pilot who defected, not for entire nations to flood our borders as "economic" refugees and then claim all legal rights and protections offered asylum seekers.

Further, there is no reason asylum seekers couldn't have their hearing before an immigration judge in the embassy or consulate in the own counties.
A U.S. embassy or consulate is considered sovereign territory and judges could be dispatched on a circuit basis.
