U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday said he’s “not a fan” of cryptocurrencies, and suggested that Facebook may need a banking charter if the company wants to launch the digital token Libra.
In a series of Twitter posts, Trump said cryptocurrencies are not money and “Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity.”
“If Facebook and other companies want to become a bank, they must seek a new Banking Charter and become subject to all Banking Regulations,” said the president.
Trump is not the only one who has criticized Facebook’s plan to introduce Libra. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire and Bank of England Governor Mark Carney are among government leaders and central bank chiefs who have spoken up against Libra.
Facebook declined to comment on Trump’s twitter posts.

I imagine FB will simply steal the money of people who hold to the wrong political theory, or who insist that there are only two sexes - but after the stupid fool has opened an account and poured a good amount of money into it.
If he’s not a fan of crypto, he must HATE our current, illegal FIAT version just as strongly.
Biggest ‘problem’ all have w/ crypto: 1) they don’t control it 2) it give anonymity.

We the people of this nation, as a whole, have done it to ourselves. We got the leaders we deserve. The time to have taken it to the street was decades ago. SCOTUS, Roe vs Wade, ruling in '73 would have been a great time to have risen to the occasion. Satan, in a masterstroke, pushed state sanctioned murder of our most innocent citizens through immediately after a long, bloody and controversial war.
The die is cast.
I don't think we've reached that point, just yet. Spiritually, we as a nation could prevent the inevitable outcome if only we would change our ways and return to a godly path. I believe in living scripture. My theory is scripture is God's method of communicating with us. As such, our understanding of the Word changes, or the words themselves, depending upon the actions we take and how those actions affect humanity's future.

Yes. But I saw more drug money last week in the news than bitcoin thieves have ransomed. And it is far from “untraceable.” If you find one end of the transaction, the other side is easy to trace—in fact, it will be easier to tie to criminals with dollar bills.
He needs to protect the dollar—and I get that. But blockchain transactions (NOT necessarily Bitcoin) are the future and it cannot be avoided. Private banknotes (bitcoin) are not illegal.

I think so. And as someone said, where Obama was a pothole, DJT is a construction company. He is VERY goal oriented. And as someone on ZH said, "to be against Bitcoin is to be against the people". I might add, "and on the side of the bankers."

DJT is good for America and its people until he ain't. And when he ain't, he's going to make Obama look like the inept, naive king he really was. He will pull out all of the stops to take us where he believes we need to go, though the "die has already been cast".
All of the above said, my strongest belief is that if we would but change our ways, as a nation, the Almighty will find a way to turn this around - even now.
We can make America great again by making America godly again.

I don’t think TPTB are on his side. (not saying you said they were)
Given all that they have thrown at him for 3 years.
That makes me think he’s the fly in the ointment. I hope he gets a second term but I think once he’s gone, things will go right back on track.
With that, my only concern is that they’re trying to broker “peace” in the Middle East. Just like all of his predecessors and Hillary was well on-board with it.
He might actually be able to pull it off (yes with the son-in-law). This could start a series of events that leads to “the man” confirming or indeed “strengthening” the “covenant of peace”.
Now for students of Bible prophecy, we all know it’s going to come one way or another.
I’m not certain that those trying to make this happen fully understand what beast (heh) will be unleashed.

No it isn't, and in an even less humorous tone, I think the time before this all begins to happen is shorter than we want to believe.

I had a Freeper tell me that bitcoin and smart phones are the main currency of street dealers and their customers.
One is rumor of wars. Everywhere on the globe there is rumor of war now. Even a rumor of CWII here in the USofA. And earthquakes in various places around the globe like we've never seen before.
When I stop to think that thousands of years of prophecy may culminate in our lifetime, and that some of us may witness Christ's actual return here on earth, I'm overwhelmed.
