President Trump announced Thursday he would sign an executive order to obtain data about the U.S. citizenship and non-citizenship status of everyone living in the United States.
In a Rose Garden ceremony, Trump said he would drop efforts to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census. Instead, he'll sign an executive order directing all U.S. agencies to provide the Department of Commerce all information they have on the U.S. citizenship, non-citizenship and immigration status.
"We have great knowledge in many of our agencies," Trump said, flanked by Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. "We will leave no stone unturned."

Anyhow, I think Trump should provide a hotline for people to call and report neighbors, co-workers, etc., who most likely are non-citizens and/or are here illegally. Good chance the census questionnaire would be revised quickly.
How many illegals do tax returns?
Would not the publicity and threat of all this achieve much of the same thing we want. The non citizens are not going to fill out the forms...………………………………………………

And the apportioning is determined by the number of “persons” not “citizens”.

Let’s say for example NY loses two seats. Do we lose those two congressman? Who decides who leaves? How does this whole thing work?
The point is to count non-citizens,
and citizens, not illegals per se.

One, the citizenship question has been on the census since our inception as a nation.
Two, the Founders never envisioned that the nation would be so utterly stupid as to allow tens of millions of people to illegally invade the nation and be allowed to stay and counted in the census thereby displacing citizens in Congressional re-apportioning.
Three, maybe you are one that celebrates loss of Congressional representation to the benefit of illegals.
You need to shut off the job magnet and other magnets that attract illegal entry into this country. You must make it very difficult for an illegal alien to function in this country. When you reward something you get more of it.
We issue about 1.1 million green cards annually. 60% of that number comes from change of status from people already here. Once someone gets here, it is very difficult to remove him. They use various legal routes to get legal status. From an attorney friend who worked in ICE and finally got disgusted and quit, she said the common saying was, “It ain’t over until the illegal alien wins.”
I have been working on the immigration issue for 12 years as part of a grassroots organization that lobbied on the Hill. It has been extremely frustrating as we are constantly on defense trying just to hold off the forces of amnesty. The Dems and RINOs lowball the number of illegal aliens to minimize the impact of an amnesty. They did the same thing in 1986 when the USG estimated 1 million would apply for amnesty and the real number turned out to be 2.7 million. So what if the 11 million estimate turns out to be 30 million? You can kiss this country goodbye. We may already be beyond the point of no return.
I never thought I would see the Speaker of the House counseling illegal aliens how to avoid deportation. She doesn’t even want to deport the million absconders who have gone thru the entire legal process and ordered by the courts to be removed.

Many do using TIIN numbers. They get EITC. IRS estimates they pay out $5 billion a year to illegal aliens.
He can start by directing the IRS/HHS to notify every American whose social security number is being used by an illegal alien on tax returns or welfare checks.
