Former House Speaker Rep. Paul D. Ryan said President Trumps lack of knowledge about anything in government tempted him to scold the president, according to a new book titled American Carnage.
I told myself I gotta have a relationship with this guy to help him get his mind right. Because, Im telling you, he didnt know anything about government. I wanted to scold him all the time, the Wisconsin Republican told book author and Politico correspondent Tim Alberta, The Washington Post reported on Thursday.
In a separate segment published in Politico Magazine, Mr. Alberta writes that Mr. Ryan attempted to have then-RNC Chairman Reince Priebus excommunicate Mr. Trump from the 2016 ticket after the release of the Access Hollywood tape where then-candidate Trump joked about sexually assaulting women.
Mr. Ryan, who retired in 2018 and is now a private citizen, said he and other lawmakers really helped to stop him from making bad decisions and reign in his impromptu style of governing.
We helped him make much better decisions, which were contrary to kind of what his knee-jerk reaction was. Now I think hes making some of these knee-jerk reactions, he said.

Just go away Ryan.
Translation: I had to advise Trump that the things you tell people to get elected don’t really have to get done.
Whatta jerk.
Seems to think everything is all about him....
How in the world are we surviving without him!!!!!!!!!
come back Paul, NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ryan needed to be put in the wheel chair and rolled off the cliff. . . .
What a jagoff. Glad he is gone!
Because things worked so well under Ryan’s idea of “government”. All this reinforces the notion that the globalists are freaking out over losing their little “world order”.
Then we need more politicians that don’t know anything about government. Trump accomplished more in 2 years than Ryan did during his entire congressional tenure.
Ryan has always been a fraudulent little traitor dick.
“Paul Ryan: Trump ‘didn’t know anything’ about government: ‘I wanted to scold him all the time’”
apparently, Ryan settled for lying to Trump that there weren’t enough GOP votes to fund the wall ...
Ryan did successfully scuttle some of this President’s agenda, but in doing so exposed himself for what a weasel he is.
Now he just wants us all to forget.
Advice from a guy who couldn’t out debate Joe Biden.
That is priceless
What a servant of We The People. He wont be missed.
Didnt know anything about it, but clearly has been one of the most effective presidents in my lifetime as far as delivering on campaign promises... and thats with a congress that is disfunctional and fighting him every step of the way....
A president really doesn’t have to know squat about government. That is what advisers are for.
Ryan’s Law Number One to President Trump:
When Dems scowl or frown at you, give up, compromise and vote their way. Try to model the life of Mitt Romney and the late John McCain-—and you’ll be loved and patted on the shoulder at CNN and MSNBC panel shows. That counts for a lot.
Best thing we can have is a President with little knowledge about how government works. Also a President who is a businessman. /see tagline
Given Ryan’s long list of distinguished accomplishments as both VP candidate and Speaker of the House, I don’t have any idea why Trump would have ignored his advice. < /s >
That’s one of the reasons we chose him. Those who know about government have screwed things up royally.
