Idaho Republican Gov. Brad Little recently signed House Bill 206 into law, expanding the states permitless carry law.
The measure will allow law-abiding gun owners ages 18 to 21 to carry their legally owned handguns within city limits in the state without a permit. Previously, the law stipulated that only gun owners ages 21 and over were allowed to carry their handguns in city limits without a permit.
While gun owners ages 18 to 21 were previously allowed to carry their firearms outside city limits without a permit, the new law standardizes permitless carry for all legal adults and is a welcome step forward in the already gun-friendly Gem State.

Right, they should have just repealed all previously enacted restrictions
I have three entire families who are all personal friends, all ex law enforcement and nurses who are moving to Idaho and leaving TOMORROW. Getting the hell out Kalifonricate! If I can ever convince my daughter and her husband to leave this state, I too will leave, in a heart beat!
Hope they are all able to shed calpolitics. And don’t just drop them off in NV okay? LOL!
Is there any part of Idaho (presume Southern end of the state) that isn’t a winter nightmare? Can’t take months of below freezing (bad lungs)
Not that I’m aware of.
Your right the constitution gives you the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed!!!
“Your right the constitution gives you the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed!!!”
What is “the right to keep and bear arms”, it’s scope and extent?
If you don’t know what it is, how do you know what is and is not an infringement?
Some parts of Lava Hot Springs are fine...
Many years ago I heard that many ex-LAPD police officers routinely retired to northern Idaho.
Well, given that the Constitution specifically speaks to the issue of Letters of Marque, the 2nd Amendment would obviously cover everything from knives to crew served weapons like canon. It's really pretty straightforward for people who can read and comprehend the English language.
The way the constitution is worded gives you the right to have any weapon period! it doesn’t say within reason..
Idaho is the target destination of most non klansmen fleeing CA.
Someday I hope to go myself.
Would a law prohibiting a 4 year old from carrying a loaded handgun be an infringement? Or would it not because the Second Amendment does not extend so far as to cover that? And if the latter is the case, how far does it extend, what is the limit?
Might look at Lewiston area. It sits at a little over 700 ft of altitude and doesn't really share the rest of the state's higher altitude weather. Nice town of 30ish thousand population.

Yes!
Bump for later...
I’ll bite.
Either you interpret that the constitution supplied to everyone, regardless of age, gender, social status etc.
Or it only applied to male land owners paying taxes of voting age.
Amendments were intended for clarification in places where the FF either didn’t cover something, or intentionally left unspoken. They knew some topics were too much of a hot topic to include at the beginning.
Either way.
Either the Founding Fathers were right about all of it, or none.
“Yes!”
So if someone gave your 4 year old a firearm to keep and bear, you’d be violating the 4 year old’s rights if you took it away because your 4 year old has “the right to keep and bear arms”.
Interesting.
I guess you’d have to let a 1 year old keep a sharp knife too.
“Ill bite.”
That may answer the question “Would a law prohibiting a 4 year old from carrying a loaded handgun be an infringement?” and make my post 19 applicable to you as well.
But it doesn’t answer the underlying questions from my post 8:
—What is the right to keep and bear arms, its scope and extent?
—If you dont know what it is, how do you know what is and is not an infringement?
“Either the Founding Fathers were right about all of it, or none.”
It’s possible to be right about some things and not right about others, though I can’t offhand think of anything the Founding Fathers were not right about. I’d not like to have had you as a teacher. I could have gotten 9 out of 10 right on a quiz and you’d have said it was all wrong .
