Shenendehowa Superintendent Oliver Robinson is set to make over $300,000 next school year in salary and benefits, the highest pay of any educator in the region, according to administrator pay data released by the state Education Department on Wednesday.

Robinson, who has led one of the region’s largest school districts since 2005, has long been the region’s highest-paid educator and will continue to see his pay inch upward next school year.

South Colonie Superintendent Jonathan Buhner, who has led the district since 2008, will be the second highest-paid superintendent in the region, according to the state data. Buhner’s overall pay next year is scheduled to reach over $296,000.

I keep hearing the Democrat candidates lament CEO pay. But here we have taxpayer funded school administrators making 5-10 times the pay of the bus drivers and secretaries - is this considered unfair or is it OK because the teachers unions fund Democrat campaigns like Elizibeth Warren and Bernie Sanders?

$300,000 is outrageously excessive for a local public servant at taxpayer expense. With school taxes in 5 digits ($10,000/year+) for many New York residents it's another reason for the exodus from New York.

Oliver Robinson is set to make over $300,000, how is it he loves stealing educational opportunities and lunches from the children???

Stealing
Preventing
Impeding education of the children.

He should be capped at $150,000 by the NEA and Teacher’s Union. After all, it is for the children and he shouldn’t be allowed to make so much $$$.

Perhaps a living wage, $15/hour.

The Mississippi Superintendent of Education makes a salary of excess of $300K. The educational system employees keep crying for pay raises but the administration is paid higher than most in the nation. They are siphoning off the money for personal use and the students suffer. The political structure for education has more power than do senators and congressmen in Mississippi and abuses its power with regularity.

Big government run amuck. This guy isn't even the state Superintendent, he's superintendent of one of hundreds of local school systems siphoning billions from the economy. It really is a tragedy, talk about wealth redistribution. Taxpayers are in effect keeping small communities afloat now that the only employer is the public government - no more manufacturing in NY - too many regulations.

Don’t forget that bloated salary of $300K a year is for a part-time job, with 3 months vacation!

Exactly, the public schools are literally allowing upstate cities economies to run on fumes until the taxpayer exodus causes the remaining tx burden on a smaller tax base to collapse, which will be a domino effect that will collapse the state.

Why all the criticism? The "educators" tell us all the time that what they do is always "FOR THE CHILDREN". They wouldn't lie to us, would they???
