Abstract...ish?

I think a nicely painted portrait would be a better gesture...

How about the First Lady exhibit of the George W museum in Dallas where she was excluded. If the exhibit is still part of museum.

Maybe it’s actually a protest sculpture.

I find the location to be a bit odd too.

Revolting, disgusting...an aboriginal totem pole totally insulting to our First Lady and a blot on the lovely landscape.

CNN, PMSNBC and faggy Shepherd Smith will love it.

That’s the one! Hideous.
Sometimes, an artist can be too close to their work to really see it as most others will.

Okay. I am from near where Lucille Ball was born. Please. Please tell me that that is a joke. No WAY anyone would pass off the first statue as Lucy. No way! Only a brain dead person would even try....!

It’s not poorly done, per the article it’s “abstractly depicting” her.
See, “Abstract” art excuses all perceived flaws the less sophisticated might think they observe.
I would not give $10 for all the Picasso’s in the word, but I’m not very sophisticated. ;-)

There’s got to be a modern day Jean Antoin Houdon out there somewhere.

Yes, it looks more like an un-abstracted version of the Hildabeast

But is is the thought that counts, and the worldwide boycott of the poor woman, from all the so-called glamour and fashion mags that featured Moose ad nauseum

An “AMATEUR chainsaw sculptor,” no less. They need to take that chainsaw and chop it down. Find an EXPERIENCED artist to do a more fitting sculpture.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this would be the one photo Vanity Fair would be happy to include in an upcoming magazine just to make fun of Melania.

Business Inside article with some details.

Took three days to carve with chainsaw.

The sculpture was carved by Ales “Maxi” Zupevc, using a chainsaw after
being commissioned by 39-year-old artist Brad Downey, an American
artist based in Berlin, according to Reuters and Agence France-Presse.

Only Michelangelo could do this lady justice. Any others need not attempt the task.

Even Mike would be pushing himself to set in stone her beauty and grace, seen on the outside, shown on the inside.

That’s pretty crude, even for chainsaw art. There are chainsaw artists here in the States that can do MUCH better.

If you have little talent, you can pass it off as art. If you have no talent, it’s abstract art.

Reminds me when I was in grade school, and my friend made a bust of JFK in clay. Let’s just say it was an honest critique, his retort was that I was just jealous, LOL. At least this guy admitted what he did was a horrible attempt at capturing Lucille Ball. I don’t think it was the same boy, but perhaps it was. 8>)

Perhaps he initially saw a picture of Nancy Jane Kulp who played Jane Hathaway on the Beverly Hillbillies, and thought she was Lucille Ball?

Nah, even she is prettier than whomever he used as his model. Almost looks like he used a picture of a Neanderthal.

Nope, closer perhaps, but even that looks prettier. Must have been some really bad acid!!! 8>)
