It was excellent. Even CNN, in a report to which Jim Acosta contributed, couldn’t find fault with anything Trump said, although it took the obligatory shots at the event itself. CNN acknowledged that Trump’s speech was not political, but rather “a message of national pride.”

Unfortunately, the matter of national pride has become political. But there was nothing in the speech that anyone would have found objectionable before left-liberals rejected the notion of pride in America. There was nothing in the speech that any patriotic American rationally can find objectionable today. You have to dislike America to dislike what Trump said to the crowd on the Mall.

This includes the part where Trump listed heroes of the past and included Betsy Ross. As I understand it, even Colin Kaepernick doesn’t object to Betsy per se. Instead, he objects to uses her flag is put to. Or something.

That Kaepernick has the right to spew inane commentary should be a source of pride in our country. So should the sources of pride President Trump laid out so well today, including our long history of remarkable achievements, our advances in racial and gender equality, and, yes, our military.

As Trump put it so well: “Together, we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told — the story of America.”

A magnificent speech, a great tribute to the folks he spotlighted about their contributions to the country, and an exemplary presentation of the history of our armed services accompanied by the fly overs...and hardly seen armored fighting vehicles.

We were in the grocery store early this afternoon, and overheard two people talking. One was saying that Trump’s Independence Day display cost ‘4 million dollars’; and the other said, ‘and you know, they have concentration camps on the border, now’.

On the way home, my husband was furious at the ignorance displayed; and kept asking, ‘How much are the illegal immigrants costing us every day?’.

Normally, Husband just sings along with the radio when he drives; but fortunately, we got home safely today...

As a retired servicemember, I would tell the MORON LEFT that the speech/display cost VERY little, inasmuch as the Armed Forces members are all SALARIED, the equipment used is government owned & about the only real cost was FUEL & the cost of any extra “contract security” that may have been hired.

In other words, the “critics” are UNINFORMED, IDIOTS and/or simply LYING.

From accusing him of saying the army retook the airports from the British during Revolutionary war to “put away your bone spurs” when he said “To young Americans across the country, now’s your chance to join our military and make a truly great statement in life, and you should do it.”.

The other day I was watching the video of Trump crossing into North Korea and it suddenly occurred to me, by God, the man is stealing the election 18 months before they count the votes!

So I wrote this reply comparing Trump's image today with Lyndon Johnson's image in 1964. Nota bene: the key word is "image" not media reports.

Consider what Trump is doing to the Democrats: he opens his campaign with a rally in Florida that draws tens of thousands; he appears in Japan in one video opportunity after another with heads of state and conducts interviews and pressers; he conducts high-stakes meetings with Deng Xiaoping, the images of which the establishment media cannot ignore; he generates terrific tension about whether he will be met in North Korea where he presents an image of a president literally stepping out to make peace; he returns home and delivers a speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial to cheering thousands with waving flags and flyovers.

We see one image after another of a president being president. A president in charge. Against that we see Democrat talking heads whingeing and demanding that the viewer believe them rather than the visual evidence of their own eyes.

The president simply stealing the narrative by stealing the image. If the mainstream media has its way, that is if the election is decided on their narrative, the president will have a tough time considering the shrinking electoral college possibilities. If the election is run the way Lyndon Johnson ran in 1964, the people will undoubtedly vote for a man they see as a real president.

ONE of the things that I find to be NAUSEA-producing about the “critics” & the MORON LEFT is their UTTER DISHONESTY.

The Armed Forces physical & evaluation stations, that once did draft physicals, cared NOTHING about WHO you were when you appeared for a pre-induction physical.
(Remember ELVIS PRESLEY was declared 1A & drafted.)

Donald Trump had bone spurs in his feet, which would physically DISQUALIFY anyone from the poorest sharecropper from my little “one horse” town to the “Sheik of Araby” or the RICHEST person on Planet Earth from passing the physical. = DJT was found to be UNFIT for military service, “by reason of physical disability”. - FACT & “end of story”.

A retired military person on Fox said that these fly-overs are included in the budgets of the respective branches. They’re considered training maneuvers.

He also said Obama provided military planes for fly-overs for sports events and even rock concerts.

I wish I had your faith in the electorate but I’ve been a poll watcher in Memphis. They’re handed a sheet when they get off the bus. Even $100k+ blacks I work with buy into reparations and everything else. At least Trump was the first person I wanted to vote for since Reagan instead of voting against a democrat.
