Trump hits George W. Bush, McCain in new book: report
The Hill ^ | July 3 2019 | JESSICA CAMPISI

President Trump in a new book reportedly takes aim at Republican leaders including former President George W. Bush and the late Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).

In the book, "American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump," by Politico Magazine chief correspondent Tim Alberta, Trump said he "brought the [Republican] Party back" after it was in "big trouble," Axios reported early Wednesday.

Trump reportedly attributed the party's previous failures to his predecessors, including Bush, who "caused tremendous division ... tremendous death and tremendous monetary loss" during his presidency by focusing on foreign operations instead of boosting the domestic economy.

Trump also told Alberta that McCain, who died of brain cancer last August and repeatedly feuded with the president during his time in the White House, hurt his 2008 presidential campaign when he told laid-off Midwestern workers that some of them wouldn't get their jobs back, Axios reports.

Not sure the writer can call them leaders. Don't you have to be in front to lead?

Some will question the report since its from Politico

But whether Trump really said these things or not, he should have. Because it’s all true !

Doesn’t read like it was written to be a hit piece.

Simply states what he said and there is NOTHING controversial or untrue.

We too often here look for trouble where there is none.

It sounds like it will be a good book.

Why am I reading about hitting instead of kicking?

They both deserved it.

“y Politico Magazine chief correspondent Tim Alberta”

All one needs to know about this book.”

You’re saying Trump hasn’t said these things about Bush and McCain? There’s nothing in these statements that he hasn’t said publicly. And the statements are correct! He rescued the GOP from failed Bush-McCain policies!

“Don’t you have to be in front to lead? “

We need representatives not ‘leaders’. We’ve been plagued with so-called leaders for too long.

“And we should trust this source to be honest?”

You don’t believe Trump criticized Bush and McCain? He’s done so publicly, so why do you think he didn’t make these statements?

Trump is accomplishing something previously considered impossible: the mainstream media is going to praise George W Bush as a great president now.

What exactly is wrong about the statements attributed to Trump? You think Bush and McCain were good for the GOP? Do you believe Trump thinks they were good for the GOP?

How do the statements in this story contradict the things he’s said in public about Bush and McCain? I don’t see any contradictions at all.

Daddy Bush realized we would never vote for his New World Order, so he set in motion the Bush Plan for North Mexico.
Replacing the electorate became the biggest project of Fedzilla for the next 30 years.
First step was bamboozling Reagan into the 1986 amnesty.
Followed by never implementing the enforcement, interior and border, that was promised. For FOUR consecutive Presidents. (well, three and a usurper)
Control of the GOP ensured that the citizens could only vote for amnesty candidates and had US in a box until Trump stepped up.
We are failing to remove the people who caused this invasion by constantly dangling amnesty as bait for more to come here.
We need to give President Trump a Congress that sides with the citizens.

We will never Make America Great Again by re-electing the same Bush League Republicans that have been dandling amnesty as bait for more illegal aliens to come here.

Flimsey Grahamnesty has said repeatedly that he will work for amnesty until he is voted out.

Time for that is now.

The Bushes will likely never win another election on a national level but their minions are still out there, gumming up the works in the White House, the congress, and the bureaucracy as well as sniping at the President from the media.
