The same can be said for mothers who make their children into beauty queens. When a three year old is wearing a bikini and dancing around like a pole dancer they are giving pedophiles free and legal eye candy. These kinds of shows should be banned as exploitation. The thing that never ceases to amaze me is how much the news is dominated by the antics of such a tiny sliver of the US population.
I would say this even if I was pro-gay, which as a Christian and a conservative I certainly am not.
But as a retired editor, my 25 years of news judgment would lead me to downgrade gay news as being of little relevance to the vast majority of straights.
On the other hand, readers do like their share of cheap thrills — and that the gay boys and bull dykes certainly provide. Not my kind of news, but I can understand the tabloid appeal.
