Yep, supposed to be an amiable loser who helps split the field and shows how gay-friendly the Dems are.

Somebody who just automatically ticks off a list of concessions, doesn't get very far.
For one thing, the voters on their own side pick up on the fact that they don't really mean what they're saying.
So between Pete and somebody who at least appears to be more sincere, voters won't choose Pete even if he promises them the moon.
Point is that the Dems are now taking a provocative role in taking him out by putting their BLM minions on him. Until then dem power brokers were just waiting to see which turd floated to the top and that’s who they would back.
