A town hall featuring South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg devolved into chaos Sunday as the city struggled to respond to a deadly police-involved shooting last week.

In his opening remarks, the 37-year-old Buttigieg, a Democrat and candidate for president, said he would send a letter to the Justice Department requesting that its civil rights division look into the June 16 shooting of 54-year-old Eric Logan, who was black. The mayor added that he would notify the local prosecutor that he'd like an independent investigator appointed.

So instead of being a leader and resolving the issue himself, he's passing the buck, so if the DOJ turns him down, he and the media can whine about how racist the Trump administration is and crap. This clown is a joke.

I haven't been following this, but if this is a city policeman shooting a local citizen, how is this a federal matter before the city even conducts its own investigation?

Having been born and raised in South Bend, it used to be a great town. Actually had Lloyd Allen a Pubbie mayor in the 60’s and early 70’s.

Now it’s a toilet, one of the worst murder rates per capita in the entire country. Have not lived there in 40 years but have friends there still that say the transformation has been stunning.
