Liz Cheney Compares Trump to Obama for Not Attacking Iran: Could Be ‘Serious Mistake’
The Observer ^ | June 21 2019 | David Richardson

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) compared President Donald Trump to his predecessor, former President Barack Obama, for calling off a military retaliation against Iran’s regime.

“So I’ll wait to see additional information on it, but I think it’s important that people recognize that the United States is going to keep its word and not go down the path that President Obama went down,” Cheney told a CNN reporter on Friday.

“Dick Cheney was an excellent “ Hand of the King” in getting Bush43 up and running in his first term, and in dealing with the huge crises that we faced from 2001-2004”

I can’t agree with you there. I’m with Trump who has called Bush-Cheneys invasion of Iraq a monumental mistake and titanic disaster. In case you forget, Trump said that directly to Jeb Bush’s face, in several debates

“he Bush-Cheney interventionism has cost a lot of lives, but hasn’t won any wars”

In retrospect, Bush-Cheney were a disaster. All that blood, all those lives, trillions of dollars spent and virtually nothing good to show for it.

“No wise person goes near CNN right now.”

Salem Radio aired similar comments by Liz this morning. Heard it with my own ears

The Cheny’s love war. Especially when none of their family members
are fighting.

She’s fine. I’m glad trump stopped. Bombing a bunch of empty buildings domes nothing too. I’m all about bombing the city centers if we have to go to war anymore. Enough of this weak war crap. I still think the United States should have hit Tokyo back in the day. We’d be a different world had we don’t that. Nobody would make a move.

NR Predicts -— She’ll likely be up for the 2024 or 2028 ticket for the Pubs... as VeeP and then our first certified female President in ‘32 or earlier.

I can’t argue with that.

Bush and Cheney also knew what Obama was all about and his intentions were well known by them. Not a peep.

Thats why I said Bush first term, not second term
In his first term Bush43 ( an outsider with the experience of running Texas and a pro sports team) had to face:

Surviving a near stolen election and the Clintonians refusing to even allow the new administration physical access to DC to set up a transition until “ every vote/ chad was counted” 6 weeks after the election.....remember it was Cheney who set up the new administration in rented office space in McLean. Remember when the Clintons wouldnt even let the Bushs into the WH until inauguration day - when Hugh Rodham’s U Haul was still in the driveway?

The Chinese forcing down our P-3 and taking the crew hostage on their territory. The outcome of reckless Chinese behavior to challenge FON in the South China Sea, about which the Clinton SecDef Cohen neglected to warn the new administration. The new admin got through it. Got our plane back in pieces, but got everyone home.

911. The legacy of corruption and ineptitude by the Clinton DOJ/ AG/ IC.
The plan going into Afghanistan when diplomacy failed, and then widening into Iraq based on the best intelligence at that time, was flawed. But mostly because no one wrote an exit plan.

I dont like what has happened to this country since 911 but remembering what it was like at the time, and what it took for this nation to recover a sense of safety and confidence, i have to give Bush and Cheney credit,

Kashmir/India/Pakistan. Little remembered but the Bush team deescalated a very serious potential nuclear confontation there.

A reason I hate going to war these days is the half-baked way our so-called leaders (including some military officers) wage war. They get people killed or maimed and spend billions and either lose the conflict or fight endlessly to a stalemate. That is crazy and disheartening.

The worst kind of wrong.

Not all of Wy. We are supposed to be a conservative state, but we have a bunch of RHINOs representing us in Congress: Barrasso, Ensi and Cheney. We are being invaded in the West of the state by CA transplants. They are like a cancer and just spread.

If Trump does what the Cheneys want, there probably won’t be another Republican president, ever.

I don’t think Dick Cheney used to endorse Obama’s Libya operation. Actually he critcised the way Obama handled the so-called Egyptian revolution 2011, (Obama/Hillary abandoned Mubarak government).

We don’t need another war in Hadjistan. Not for these bass-ackwards, stone-age savages!
We can do other subversive things in-country; and sure hope we are already doing them!

Killing people over the destruction of a piece of military equipment is not a proper response. No one lost their lives. No one should die for that. If and when the Iranians make a direct attack on our military personnel or civilians, then it will be payback time.

Trump did the “wise” thing. A Just War cannot be justified over the destruction of property. I suspect there were some back channel discussions that made it clear to Iran where we draw the line. They’ve been warned.
