You may be right but that doesn’t mean Bolton doesn’t sniff cordite for Viagra.

Absolutely correct. The sanctions are badly hurting Iran and are destabilizing the mullah regime. The Iranians are becoming increasingly frustrated and desperate. The US Navy will assure free navigation through the Straits of Hormuz. The oil will flow. Iranian oil won’t because any country or financial institution involved in its trade is subject to severe sanctions. This is an overwhelmingly effective tactic. Obama saved the mullahs in 2013 when he lifted the sanctions. At the time there were huge demonstrations in Iran demanding change. Obama undercut them. The current danger is that some frustrated, jihadist Revolutionary Guard junior officer will attack an American ship and inflict casualties. Then real shooting will start.

It was all part of a campaign of deception that Trump and his staff designed (yes including Bolton) to create disruption and division within Iranian leadership. THe NYT played its role just as expected.

Anyone who thinks Trump is going to be fooled by the fake news media go stand over there with the dumb people.

How do you know that Bolton sniffs cordite for Viagra?

I believe that John Bolton is an “America First” Patriot, and the anti-Bolton rhetoric is really anti-Trump rhetoric.

First, the oil going through Hormuz is headed for other countries like Japan and Europe. So if those countries are getting their tankers shot at, it is their responsibility to protect them.

Second, keeping our interests safely floating through Hormuz is really all we want to do. If the mullahs want to send their naval assets into international shipping zones, then they it’s their risk.

Otherwise, we have to wait for more legitimate reasons to get into a shooting war.

Not at all. Bolton has permanent war boner. The rest of the country is not interested in any more middle eastern adventure wars. I think the President brought him in because if you need to kill someone, he’s your guy.

I dunno...When the Libs agree with Bolton… he can’t be right….

I feel like the media and the DNC were SO instantly and wholly behind the (easily planned, financed, executed and overly- hyped) drone strike, that it has to be a Soros/DNC con-just to suck the President into a mistake they can exploit

We have lots lf time and LOTS of ways to deal with Iran. This aint’ it

Dunno. Trump hired Bolton and his advisors. Trump made the initial decision to attack before changing his mind. Buck stops with Trump.

I think all of this “leaky” fake news is a deliberate strategy by Trump to confuse and bamboozle the Iranian Mullahs and foster internal Iranian chaos ...

I’m not going to put Bolton in the same league as McCain and Romney - by all accounts Bolton is a far more serious and respectable person than either of those two failures. But military force should be a last resort, not a first response.

Absolutely.

I believe that John Bolton is an “America First” Patriot, and the anti-Bolton rhetoric is really anti-Trump rhetoric.

I've exposed enough about that jerk right here on Free Republic over the years to completely discredit any claim that he's an "America First Patriot."

For example, he spent a lot of energy -- and destroyed his credibility in the process, by the way -- in the late 1990s clamoring for the Clinton administration to topple the government of Serbia on behalf of the radical Islamic insurgents in Kosovo. There was absolutely nothing about that bullsh!t that remotely resembles the conduct of an "America First Patriot."

I hope Bolton snorts cordite. Trump needs a junkyard dog being barely restrained in dealing with adversaries. If he isn’t feared, he’s negotiating from weakness.

Iran is a damned real threat.. make no mistake... Jimmy Carter’s gift to the damned world...

I have no doubt the US will do what it needs to... While my gut is turn the place to glass, I know that’s not the right thing to do.

Perhaps its time for Stuxnet 2.0

Had nothing to do with his presidential campaign. It was simply the right thing to do.

Had they shot down a plane loaded with our servicemen, it would be a different story.

Also, you shut down the straight, as Iran would do, it affects the whole world.

God, how stupid can these people be.
