Salem, Ore. - Gov. Kate Brown on Thursday authorized Oregon State Police to round up GOP senators who have staged a walkout in protest of the cap-and-trade energy conservation bill.

"The Senate Republicans have decided to abandon their duty to serve their constituents and walk out," Brown said in a statement.

Why play the game with one or both hands tied around your back, when the opposition engages in eye-gouging, nose-biting, and sucker punches?

Whatever game you're describing doesn't correspond to this situation.

The liberal voters in OR have spoken and have elected like-minded officials. I say give them what they want and implement all the wonderful climate garbage they want.

No, dems in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Texas go punished more for doing this stunt.

Don't be a coward unless you rebel raising arms against your enemies. Other than that, accept what has already been decided upon by the voting booth. If you think that is flawed, subverted, or doctored then see the part about raising arms again. Again, fleeing your responsibilities like toddlers throwing a temper tantrum is embarrassing/prelude to further being a minority figure.

My brother-in-law who lives in Oregon is a flaming Marxists along with being Harvard educated Undergrad and Grad (STEM field btw) and he has the right to be represented by his democrats Reps along with Repubs who took the oath.

The voters can elect more Republicans in the next State elections to secure enough votes so that an Amendment can be placed on the ballot where the voters can decide if they want a direct vote on Cap & Trade.

Until then, Repubs or other political factions are SOL unless they pick up a gun and fight. Founders did that instead of going into the fetal position.

Don't be a coward unless you rebel raising arms against your enemies.

There is nothing cowardly about using the quorum rules of the legislative body to effectively veto insane legislation.

Such last-ditch measures are almost certain to fail against a Democrat supermajority. So will everything else the opposition may do. However, the Republicans are still playing by "Rule-of-law". We should enjoy it while it lasts.

There will be time enough for raising arms against the State Government at some later date.

You can bet when that starts, that it will be Leftist terrorists doing the first shooting. And their targets will be the handful of Republican legislators remaining in the State. They will be the designated scapegoats when the insane Cap-and-Trade laws ruin the State economy and various factions get denied the swag that they were promised.

I am all for playing by the same rules that the opposition uses - the real ones, not the masquerade ones.

Is that state-level? I really hope it is, because if it’s US senators, then she’s in a state of rebellion against the Constitution.

Our system is based on a representative government.

What authority does a governor have to send police to retrieve elected representatives? Would they have been arrested if they decided not to go back? That's a can of worms we never want to open.

Good question. As public servants there is likely code dealing with dereliction of duty if willful I imagine. This governor likely had legal counsel.

Although we can understand why these state senators walked out, the tactic of walkout to deprive the legislature a quorum so as to stop all business is possibly seditious.

On the other hand, lack of a quorum can be viewed as a sort of filibuster and be rectified by voters putting enough legislators in office to guarantee a quorum.

But that’s different, the RATs are on the “righteous side” of ALL issues, so it’s o.k. for them to do anything, legal or not in the furtherance of their “quest” to turn America into a Communist country.

If these state senators go next door to Idaho, a red state, the Oregon state Marshall’s have no authority to touch the state senators.

Gov. Kate Brown is a leftist democrat tyrant who should be removed from office. She’s exactly the kind of tyrant our founding fathers envisioned when they wrote our inalienable second amendment right into our constitution. Don’t let the weak NPCs and SJW on the left fool you. Those are the ignorant, empty pawns of the far left. The people behind many of the problems we face are evil, well-funded, intelligent, and talented when it comes to pushing they’re sick and dishonest agenda on the nation. Many on the left are cowards, but they would love being able to order all our deaths for simply having an opposing view or owning a gun. We have to fight them at all cost. TRUMP 2020!!! - MAGA!!!

Its not the climate stuff that anyone on FR cares about. I don't. Its the social issues. What if the legislature mandates kindergarteners to learn about homosexual sex, condoms, cross-dressing story time, Islam/Ramadan curricula? Those kids have no choice. I support what the Rs have done there. No more retreating.

Call the OSP and coordinate with the FBI Hostage Rescue Team. Track them all down, ambush them in the woods and shoot them dead in the ditch!

Its good enough for regular citizens. Its good enough for politicians.

cap-and-trade energy conservation bill, are their provisions for the enormous amount of homeless, fecal matter and needles on the streets? Hitleresque of her to use law enforcement to do her personal dissatisfaction with the GOP who embarrassed her, how dare they, do they not know who I am?

“Sorry, if they are not shooting, they should be sitting at their elected post and reaping the voter’s consequences.”

Good people are supposed to stand against evil even if they’re in the minority.

These are good people.

“If these state senators go next door to Idaho, a red state, the Oregon state Marshall’s have no authority to touch the state senators.”

Be that as it may the Oregon cops may cross into Idaho anyway.

We left California in 2010 and despite their lack of jurisdiction or authority we still had CA Franchise Tax Board enforcers visit us in 2012 to try to force us to pay taxes for money we earned after we left.

The Park County Sheriff’s Department did not agree with the FTB on the matter of their authority in Wyoming.

So we’ll have to see if Idaho cops are willing to stop Oregon cops who think they can act in Idaho.

I don’t think Oregon Marshall’s will cross into Idaho on a matter like this. Taxes, and a political issue are different
