No, Nixon was never officially impeached. He resigned first

Former President Richard Nixon is making a comeback, this time as congressional Democrats mull impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

Just this week, the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report from Nixon’s former White House counsel, John Dean, a key witness in the Watergate scandal.

What’s often forgotten about Nixon is that, while he’s the only U.S. president to resign from office, he was never actually impeached.

The latest public figure to bobble this fact was Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC’s late-night show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Kimmel’s comment came during the June 6 episode of his show, as part of an extended joke breaking down Trump’s recent feud with actress Bette Midler. The comedian listed several far-fetched connections between Trump, Nixon and Midler’s 1993 film "Hocus Pocus" as evidence for why Trump lashed out at her on Twitter.

He as also neve unofficially impeached.

And what he did is child’s play compared to the wrongful acts in the Obama administration.

I remember that day very well. I walked into a store, and there was THE STAR tabloid paper with the headlines in BIG letters...

“JEAN DIXON SAYS NIXON WILL NOT RESIGN!”

We all got a good laugh at that.

Ten years later, Jean Dixon’s publicity firm stated she HAD predicted the resignation.

NO SHE DID NOT as I also remember an earlier interview with her for PARADE magazine in which she again claimed Nixon would not resign.

John Dean was one of the key Watergate burglary planners.

For him, the only real goal was recovering from DNC hands the Little Black Book of his secret prostitute girlfriend, since the book contained his contact info and that of many of his friends.

John Dean is heralded as some kind of Saint:

It’s ridiculous.

Clinton was formally impeached.
He served out a full two terms.

Bill screwed it up for them by not stepping down. The precedent has been set.

Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton are the only two Presidents to have the dubious honor of being impeached. Nixon resigned before things got that far.

Don’t forget Saints Woodward and Bernstein, who are now experts on EVERYTHING political.

Since the Fraud politicized EVERYTHING, Saints W and B are now qualified to render judgment on EVERYTHING.

Absolutely correct. He was not impeached. Richard M. Nixon resigned because he loved America more than his own ego. Unlike that filthy piece of vermin Bill Clinton. He was impeached and DID NOT LEAVE office when they should have dragged that bastard out.

“Ten years later, Jean Dixon’s publicity firm stated she HAD predicted the resignation.”

Well, that’s simple. She predicted he would resign to the Enquirer and that he wouldn’t resign to the Star. That way she could sell them both an “exclusive”!

Do you know that when President Trump is impeached and removed from office that Hillary Clinton becomes president? That’s what half of the Democrats believe.

Nixon resigned when a delegation of GOPe Senators told him there wasn’t enough votes to stop removal from office.

With Nixon it was even money that the Senate would vote to convict. With Trump there is zero chance of that.
