I’m pretty sure President Trump has an amazing team advising him on where he can campaign most effectively to win electoral votes. It worked well last time.

If he doesn’t win CA, every second he spends campaigning there is a waste.

Hillary wasted time and effort campaigning there (she had CA in the bag) for fear she’s lose the popular vote. It was a mistake.

We’ll see what President Trump’s team decides to do.

Rush never suggested that Trump campaign in the state. In fact, he said he didn’t think Trump could win the state. What he said was that he should hold a rally in the state to highlight CA’s ills to the entire nation.

It is a simple question of math. Hillary took 62% of the 14 million California votes cast to Trump's 32%. Voter turnout was 75%. Trump would likely have to go to Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernadine, San Diego, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties (where the vote count was meaty enough to make a difference) to capture 2.2 millions extra votes and/or get better turnout from of the 25% who didn't turn out last time. And don't forget you'd have to combat ingrained Tammany Hallsters.

It's not impossible but it would likely draw time and effort away from defending PA, WI, and MI as well as the summit push for ME, NH, MN and as LS recommended NV, NM, and then OR.

THAT SAID, as I've written previously BECAUSE many of us Deplorables behind enemy lines (NY, NJ, MA, CA) and thus we are surrounded by statists of every stripe - left and right - we possibly have a better appreciation for liberty and why it is important to fight for it when you've got it. I'd like to think that a few Deplorables in occupied territories probably have more impact on the margins than people think. Imagine the DNC resources and mind-losing that would ensue if Trump held a big old rally in Fresno..."what are his internals showing that WE aren't seeing? I know we are worried about Minnesota but send a few people to LA now..."

Will our deep blue states go Red in 2020? Maybe not. But then nobody thought Trump could turn PA Red. You have to be realistic, but ya gotta believe.

Trump going to California needs ro be considered for its effects on other races and not just the electoral vote. It would not be a waste to energize the demoralized Republicans in order to take back the seven House seats taken by the Democrats manufactured voting in 2016.

I see a couple of wins here. A rally or two is bound to pull out the remaining Republicans and Independents, resulting in a massive turnout and scaring the crap out of the Democrats, so:
1) The Democrats panic, sucking money in to a "safe" state that would otherwise have been used against Republicans elsewhere.
2) The rallies would energize the "forgotten voter" (Hey! They remembered us!"). President Trump has no chance to win the state, but out-of-the-closet voters might put some down-ballot Republican representative in Congress.
