If Amash is still getting 1/3rd of the GOP primary vote in this district, it is not beyond the realm of possibility he could translate that to upwards of 5%. The disgruntled ex-GOP Congressman Bob Barr got 0.4% in 2008, enough to deliver North Carolina to Zero that year. Ex-NM Gov. Gary Johnson took 1% in 2012 and 3.27% in 2016 as the Libertarian nominee. That was enough (along with renegade RINO Egg McMuffin, personally recruited by Willard the Rat to try to give Hillary the election) to prevent Trump from winning five states including CO, MN, NV, NH & NM.

Sadly, yes, there are a lot of voters who ARE that stupid. Brainwashed, ignorant, misinformed or delusional, many of whom either know nothing about the candidates or benefit from the corrupt status quo and are happy to watch it all burn down around them. The result of allowing this Republic to turn into a democracy (two wolves and a sheep deciding on what to eat for dinner). Voting should be a privilege, not an automatic right.

And then after all that, Barr tried to sneak back into Congress again as a “Conservative Republican” in 2014. Thankfully, Barry Loudermilk stomped him 2-to-1 in the runoff.

And if Amash DOES face an actual conservative in a one-on-one matchup, we have this handy Bingo card ready for the inevitable meltdown that Amash voters will experience on election night:

He will change parties and run as a Democrat.

Polls have Trump losing to Biden by 13 points too. Are you believing those as well?

Polling at this stage is meaningless.

The trouble with Libertarians is that they demand 100% agreement with them, and if you do not comply, they will dedicate themselves to helping the Dems attain 50 years of socialism, —just to teach YOU a lesson.

Yep. That about sums it up exactly. No gray area with them. It's either all one way or all the other way.

It’s West Michigan, I grew up there. Remember the Johnson tsunami in 1964? It was a Goldwater Tsunami in that district. But now that social issues are a really big deal, it’s also important to note it’s a highly socially conservative district as well (think “Betsy De Vos/Erik Prince/“). Dems have as much chance there as Republicans in Detroit.

The only lesson the libertarians are trying to teach is they have a better system. Unfortunately they have a few flaws in their beliefs that’s what caused me to leave. but the ideal for me would be the freedom and small government of the libertarians and the values and fiscal approach of conservatives. Not impressed by the adherence to the constitution of the republicans some of whom call themselves conservatives.

I would really favor a jungle run-off election, so the Libertarians could have their fun in Round One (“we got an awesome 6%, —Let’s par-TAY, pass the dope!),

—and then in round Two they’d be flushed.

Unfortunately, they are lousy teachers incapable of strategic thinking. The only actual teaching has come from Ron Paul and Rand Paul, and they’ve had enough sense to understand that in order to grow their movement, they need to be, for now, a caucus within the Republican Party, instead of spinning their wheels burning gas, burning tires, making noise, but getting nowhere. In 50 years, what has the Libertarian Party accomplished? — nada, and it looks like nada fading infinitely into the future.

I agree. They barely even keep the philosophy alive. I think i remember one election where they got 1.7% But I left for their positions on defense, immigration, and abortion. Not good enough for me. Dangerous for the country.
