Mark Levin, Ken Cuccinelli Engage in Virginia Primary Election

In this environment, there is serious talk amongst Virginia Republicans in NOVA about whether to embrace an agenda based on conservative principles versus embracing ideas that might appeal to liberal-leaning voters. It is a vigorous debate on whether Virginia can be restored to a red state, and if so, what sort of leaders will get it there.

Virginia Senate District 13 is a microcosm of this fight. Sen. Dick Black is retiring, and a classic conservative versus establishment-moderate primary matchup will determine his successor. Senate District 13 includes parts of Loudoun County and Prince William County, which are among the highest-income, highest-cost counties in the nation. They are situated west and northwest of Washington, DC.

Black is a longtime conservative stalwart in the Virginia Senate. The two Republicans vying for his seat are both currently county supervisors in Loudoun County.

First is Geary Higgins, a conservative. Higgins is a pro-life Christian who is endorsed by the National Rifle Association (NRA) for his support for the Second Amendment. He strongly advocates cracking down on MS-13 gang members from Mexico, supports President Trump’s border wall, and wants aggressive new measures to combat sex trafficking.

The other is Ron Meyer, who leans to the political left within the GOP spectrum. Meyer’s opponents criticize him for being pro-abortion, and he is actively opposed by the NRA for his support for gun control. Meyer’s critics include Black himself.

Isn’t the problem that lawyers are moving to VA to run DC?

Honestly the one who can win is most important this election. The republicans are one seat in majority. We at least must maintain majority. Yes it’d be great to have one of us in the seat, but I don’t think NOVA is there anymore. A RINO may be best they can get. Keep the majority!!!!

Legal mass immigration and domestic migration from the Northeast have changed VA to solid blue. NoVA could just as well be CA. One-third of Fairfax County, the largest county in the state, is foreign-born.

The other is Ron Meyer, who leans to the political left within the GOP spectrum.

Satan is seductive. Leaning to the political left continues to be a losing strategy for "Republicans." Ask Barbara Comstock about that. She was replaced by an agent of Satan, a Democrat.

There is no sure way to win. Just stick to conservative principles and proudly run on them. Trump is making America great again!

I can see both sides of this one. We were one vote away from infanticide, thank you Gov. Northam. If the State legislature goes Dem. we’re in for a lot of troubles. On the other hand, I truly believe that a conservative can win if he/she presents the arguments well and refuses to let the liberal media tell people what they are saying. You’ve got to attack the parsing that the media does to discredit the GOP candidate. That (along with redistricting) is what doomed Representative Bratt.

“One-third of Fairfax County, the largest county in the state, is foreign-born.”

A lot of that are Koreans, who are mostly conservative. What I’ve noticed here in western Fairfax over the last decade is the large increase in illegals, South Asians and Middle Easterners, all who vote socialist. We moved from Maryland, in part, to get away from socialists, but it looks like that’s not working out too well.

The Koreans are not mostly conservative based on my experience as part of the FCRC for many years as well as being an election officer and poll watcher. Look at Mark Keam (D), a Korean, of the 35th District. Although not a Korean, Kathy Tran (D) of the 42nd District. And then there are other Dem minority reps like Hala Ayala, Ibraheem Samirah, and Alphonso Lopez in the House of Delegates representing parts of FC. Soon there will be no Reps from FC.

The 2012 ballot in Fairfax County was the first one in the state to have a Spanish language ballot. The Dems have run up huge majority cushions in Fairfax County ever since John Kerry who was the first Dem to win FC in 40 years.

Hillary won FC 64.4% to 28.6%. She did better than Obama did in 2012 who won 59.6% to 39.1% over Romney.

Meyer is a punk rino who has been running for office since high school.
He has zero principles and will say he is for anything that might get him votes.
He thinks he is the center of attraction wherever he goes. He will vote with the Democrats on every important issue.

Virginia is now solid democrat because of rinos like Meyer who would not stop the immigrant invasion in northern Virginia and which now sees illegal immigrants and green card aliens voting by the hundreds of thousands, mostly in Northern Virginia.

Virginia is now California East, thanks to spinelessrinos like Meyer.

Meyer is a left-winger. Why would any Conservative vote for a left-winger as a Republican ? Demonrats don’t run non-leftists in Republican districts anymore. Why would they run somebody who’s going to vote a Conservative/GOP agenda ? That’s utterly moronic and counterintuitive.

Foreign born in America
In 1960. 9.6 million. 4.7% of total population
In 2010. 40 million. 12.9%. of total population
This is from 2010. What do you think it will be like in the 2020 census?
After 50 years in Virginia, last year we sold our house and left the state.
Loudoun county was pretty solid conservative. Now it solid leftist.
