President Trump on Sunday ripped Democrats ahead of testimony from John Dean, a former White House counsel for President Nixon who proved pivotal during the Watergate scandal.

"The Dems were devastated - after all this time and money spent ($40,000,000), the Mueller Report was a disaster for them," Trump tweeted Sunday evening.

"But they want a Redo, or Do Over. They are even bringing in @CNN sleazebag attorney John Dean. Sorry, no Do Overs - Go back to work!"

**SNIP**

Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee will grill Dean on Monday in an attempt to to shine a spotlight on the unsavory details about Trump’s conduct contained in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

This has finally surpassed farce. It is now in the realm of surreal. This congress is beyond obsessed.

Right. I was thinking it was more nefarious, i.e., an extra-marital thing, but actually a legit relationship — with a prostitute. It’s a mess. He sure opened a can of worms.

He got a President run out of office trying to clean up his own dirt.
That’s not the official narrative, but it is what happened.

Reminds me of being a teen at the time at a hippy dippy outdoor art festival somewhere in Georgia where a guy was selling barbie sized dolls of the Wategate players.

He had likenesses of John Dean, Earlichman, John Mitchell and Mitchell’s wife. The one of Mitchell’s wife had her talking on a phone that was bugged.

Weird people, weird times.

Exactly. Maybe PDJT is aware of this and will send an interesting tweet or two. The Rats are going to schlepp him out as some magical credible witness. Before they do, the country needs to know “the rest of the story” when it comes to John Dean.

“The one of Mitchell’s wife had her talking on a phone that was bugged.”

Wasn’t it Martha Mitchell that they hid away in a lock-down mental facility about this same time?

Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee will grill Dean...
... in a shallow, transparent attempt to equate the collusion hoax with Watergate. All of them should swing.

Yes, in fact she was so sleazy and dishonest, the dishonest Watergate sleazebags fired her.

Yes she was.

For anyone interested in Watergate, John Dean, Bob Woodward and what a total travesty the whole overblown tragi-comedy known as Watergate really was, visit the Texas A & M Colodny Collection. I just read the Colodny-Roy Elson interviews which were unreal. Roy Elson was the top aide of Arizona senator Carl Hayden D-AZ. He knew a few things.

John Dean ordered the break-ins and began the coverup that is clear from Colodny’s research. Maureen Dean is definitely a lady with a past. Steny Hoyer appears quite frequently in the documents too.

Colodny wrote Silent Coup, which stood up in court for several libel suits. I believe it. It eventually lost out.

I would rather see them revive Abscam
just so we can see Rita Jenrette again.

John Dean is the man responsible for the Watergate break-ins. He helped the Democrats by lying in his testimony to help them with their coup against Nixon.

Did John Dean get the nude pictures of his wife back in exchange for his lies against Nixon?

"G. Gordon Liddy always had nice things to say about Jonn Dean."

Thank you for mentioning that.

Too bad the "G-man" is so old now and doesn't do his radio show anymore.

I loved it when he would talk about this rat, Dean.

Also loved it when he called the WaPo the Washington *bleep*.

"And in further news the *bleep* said..."

It didn't lose out exactly: of the several suits filed, two against Gordon Liddy were declared a mistrial; the Deans settled one suit out of court with the publisher but cannot publicly discuss the terms. Several other witnesses have come forward since Silent Coup was published to confirm the gist of it--Douglas Caddy and Robert Merritt's Watergate Exposed and Phil Stanford's White House Call Girl are both important. The most consistent interpretation of the contradictions in testimony between the various witnesses is that Dean ordered the break-ins via Magruder (who like Dean has changed his story several times). Dean turned witness for the prosecution under pressure from Ted Kennedy, who had decided to make it a case against Nixon rather than the Plumbers, Geoff Shepard's research shows (The Secret Plot to Make Ted Kennedy President and The Real Watergate Scandal).

Or avoided jail time for his own actions, at least. The FBI raided the offices of Phillip Bailley, who with Heidi Rikan ran the call-girl ring Dean's future wife was involved in, on April 6, 1972, after which Dean began following the developments in the FBI's investigation very closely. A few weeks later, per Liddy, Magruder ordered Liddy to switch the Plumbers' surveillance target from the Democratic National Convention in Miami to the Democratic National Committee offices in the Watergate complex.
