I guessed a Euroweenie publisher for Will’s book. And I was right: Hachette/Hachette Livre/Lagardère.
Quelle suprise.
The GOP has been around more than a hundred years. Trump would leave office in 2024, I think the GOP will still be around until then.
Needs back on his meds.
Yes, it’s ironic. Will wants us to believe that Trump supporters support his policies simply because they blindly support whatever Trump tells them to. In reality it’s Never Trumpers like Will and Kristol who, out of pure personal animus, will always oppose Trump, regardless of his record or policies. Classic case of projection.
I always thought he was just pointing out the obvious
This is not a destructive cult, George. Learn your facts before you mislead people.
When it comes to George Will, I am pulling for Cancer.
Trotsky was a leader of the Bolsheviks and a major participant in the Soviet revolution and the brutal repression that followed.
He lost a power struggle with Stalin and was murdered.
Will assumes that Trump voters support tariffs because Trump tells them to. Has it ever occurred to the arrogant jackass that perhaps people voted for Trump because they favored tariffs rather than the reverse? Probably not, because that would deflate his “cult of Trump” rhetoric.
I have to laugh every time an establishment mouthpiece like Will attacks Trump for not being an ideologically pure conservative. Where were these ideological purists when Mitt Romney supported a Massachusetts version of Obamacare, when McCain pushed an immigration platform identical to Ted Kennedy and Chuck Schumer’s, or when the welfare state expanded under George W. Bush?
Talk of ideological purity or lack thereof is just a dishonest cover, since the purity test only seems to apply to Trump and his supporters.

Well said. Worth repeating.
Trotsky was a leader of the Bolsheviks and a major participant in the Soviet revolution and the brutal repression that followed.
He fell out of favor with Stalin and was murdered.
what an ass Will has become
Projection defines a fool. Will thinks HE is a cult leader. Explains why he told his cult members to not vote Republican in 2018.
His “cult” could hold their monthly meetings in a phone booth!
Even in the “Reagan days” his columns were only marginally interesting. If you wanted something with “intellectual meat” you read Buckley. Will was a Buckley wanabe. So wrapped up in his own narcissism he didn’t notice his own obsolescence. Now he continues to march to a well-deserved obscurity.
