Active Shooter Reported at Del Amo Shopping Mall In Torrance, Calif.

TORRANCE, Calif. — Police swarmed the Del Amo Fashion Center shopping mall in Torrance Monday amid reports of an active shooter. Multiple agencies were responding.

Witnesses report hearing multiple gunshots — At least one person was injured.

I stayed at the Hilton across the street from Del Amo on Hawthorne Ave. Nice area and great mall, couple good restaurants in mall but most of the best were across the street behind the Hilton hotel. Restaurant Row

Mad Maxine is not the US Rep of this area, her district is up the road around The Forum where the LA Lakers played for decades. It is a sh!thole area, strip bars, porn shops, tat storefronts. This place was so nasty, when Tito’s opened a small shack south of the Forum, they closed less than a year later.

Surprisingly, there were a couple 5 star hotels there also, but security would rival a Fed prison during lockdown.

The advantage of staying on Hawthorne Ave was that it was a direct drive to LAX, no freeway. If Hawthorne was backed up there were several North-South streets you could drive, mostly resident but usually open to get to LAX.

I have no idea. We have a very diverse neighborhood, so anybody pretty much looks like they could potentially live here. However, it’s more Asian and White than hispanic or black.

My parents live right next to the mall. The police department is just 2 blocks from the mall. If the shooter fled toward a nearby middle school, that would be Madrona Middle School, right across the street.

Whenever stuff like this happens, it's rarely from people who live in Torrance. Most of Torrance's violence is "imported" from surrounding areas. That mall is a magnet for crime. :(

Torrance is not a conservative city at this time...
