“Remember when Nixon would negotiate with the Soviets and every tiny setback or halt in the negotiations was blamed on Nixon? The media (and Dems) would scream for fresh U.S. concessions to get the negotiations back “on track”.”

Yes, that was back when the media and the political establishment said that talking with arussia was good. Now that Russia is no longer communist, and encourages church-building, talking with Russia has become BAD

“Republican U.S. Sen. Martha McSally said she does not support the tariffs. “Mexico is Arizona’s No. 1 trading partner, accounting for over $16 billion in 2018 alone,” the senator said in a statement. “While I support the president’s intention of stopping unchecked illegal immigration, I do not support these types of tariffs, which will harm our economy and be passed onto Arizona small businesses and families.”...

Glenn Hamer, president and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, did not hold back his disdain for the plan.

“It’s the worst idea I’ve heard this year,” he told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Thursday. “Mexico is a friend and ally and we’ve made incredible progress in the renegotiation of NAFTA through the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement and this could easily flush all of that great work right down the toilet.”

After 2+ years they still do not understand. PDJT says something he might do, it is talked about free of charge for 4 days, politicians panic and talk about making adjustments to prevent it, new ideas come out. PDJT does not have to follow through and gets what he wants from the very people who did not want to do it in the first place.

Exactly right. There are many corrupt and self-serving Republicans who are easily “irked” by this president’s resolve to defend the country. Trump is an inconvenient obstacle to them.

Those opposing Trump are the very people that helped get us into this mess in the first place.

Then don't complain when they bail.

It irks me to see the thousands coming across our borders, uninvited and bringing whatever with them and not knowing who they are.

It really irks me to see them be able to take advantage of the loose laws the dems won’t fix! and so USE everything at your disposal, Mr President! to get a handle on this...

No it’s not, anyone who says that clearly hasn’t read it.

It has an ENTIRE chapter dedicated to Anti-discrimination of LGBT which didn’t exist in NAFTA, so it surrenders the whole transgender debate in the workplace to a international, unelected body.

It also flat out talks about wealth transfer between nations, and gives Mexico immunity to strike out anything they feel encroaches on National sovereignty. Canada and the US do not have that right.

It’s another Trojan Horse for globalism being sold as being the complete opposite.

“Joining Grassley in opposition to the tariffs were pro-trade Senate Republicans Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Martha McSally of Arizona, John Cornyn of Texas, Joni Ernst of Iowa and Rob Portman of Ohio, whose votes Trump will need to pass the USMCA.”

Your time is better spent reading than writing.....

President Trump has to deal with the duties of being President as well as doing the job that Congress is too LAZY to do.

President Trump always does the right thing and he does it because he actually Loves his Country.

Congress should go home and stay there. Congress is useless!

Just think how they would react, they and their banker pals— if the next step or replacement step is... to STOP ALL REMITTANCE transactions to Mexico from the US. ALL OF THEM.

Stop or lay huge fees on the transmission— come here illegally and the repug- free labor fake social security number employers pay cannot be transmitted back to Mexico, not by the company and not by the individual (OR, can... for a substantial fee paid direct to the US Treasury- not “fudgeable” by banks or the thousands of cambios, or Western Union lines.

Hear them squeal. Of course, Grassley is concerned for Iowa Beef Processors and the illegals so employed in their knacking and processing facilities.
