A nonprofit group can continue building a wall on private land along the U.S.-Mexico border now that a border city rescinded a cease and desist order.

...

"There were two permits that were issued on behalf of the city. Those permits were issued prematurely by staff, but we are now in communication with the company and the owner of the property to ensure that if we are going to continue forward with this particular issue, that they need to come into compliance with all city ordinances and regulations, including any state requirements," Perea said.

I posted the URL for the mayor’s office and phone number all over the place.

Oh, and his photo.

“”The Sunland Park city hall was flooded with phone calls and emails after news of the cease and desist order broke on Tuesday. We Build The Wall executives urged people to contact Sunland Park and advocate for the wall, spreading the phone number for the city hall on Twitter. After the new permits were issued, We Build The Wall executives asked supporters to call and thank city officials.””

Way to go FReepers & Patriots.

Now don’t fail to follow up with a call of thanks. Do the “right” thing

The permits were issued “prematurely by staff”. Which means there issued, but the politicians didn’t like it?

Open borders douchebag mayor claims he received hundreds of death threats (unlikely that many, but not cool in any case). Bottom line is he backed down in the face of public pressure.

Saw this in my small town. City council wanted to plop a new fire station in the middle of a residential area, instead of in the corridor where studies showed the need was greatest. The fire dept. wanted it in the center of the town so they would answer on average one less call per day for mutual aid from the surrounding county & other municipalities. We showed up in council chambers like a Frankenstein pitchfork mob, and the council backed down. They were so afraid for their safety, they all fled the chambers immediately after the vote had been taken and the proper result realized.

A PRIME example of the ‘big-guy’ whose butt occupies the ‘big-guy’s’ seat Blaming an underling -— who has operated that way for YEARS in the past with no issues whatsoever -— to get his ‘big-guy’s butt out of the line of fire.

If we’ve seen it once, we’ve seen it 100 times

I just sent Kolfage and Kobach messages about Patented land. I hope they read them. I’d bet the land they are building on is patented land and there are a lot of rules that apply only to patented land.

They probably know about it but just in case???

WINNING!! @WeBuildtheWall was given the green light yesterday afternoon by the city of Sunland Park to resume construction, and our permits were re-issued. From the start We Build The Wall, Inc complied with all regulations as required by law as we stated.@JackPosobiec #Trump pic.twitter.com/XcUnMKvK3i— Brian Kolfage (@BrianKolfage) May 30, 2019

I am sure they did, I saw a communication from them indicating that the property owner had been in possession of the land before statehood, which has a definite effect on how and whether later zoning and ordinances apply.

I suspect they are getting legal advice from some of the best property rights lawyers on the planet and the mayor got schooled on how his city of “limited resources” can’t afford a lawsuit they will absolutely lose on the merits.

Missed in the article that this was a small town with limited resources. They had no choice but back down and honor the already issued permits. Wonder what changed in them re-issuing them? Time to force other traitors like this town to get aboard or be bankrupted.

Good Point!

Use the left’s technique of getting someone (like the ACLU) to threaten them with a life of financial and/or political hell on earth

They will come around -— for the moment at least

I will contribute to a fundraiser for legal spending for the landowner if it comes to that. Drain the city’s legal coffers.
