How things have changed. A year or two back I think there was no guarantee Trump would survive the Senate test on impeachment.
One tactic that could be used would be to “review” the articles of impeachment, and in Judiciary committee, find that they do not meed the constitutional requirement of “ Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors”.
At which time the committee could send the articles back to the House for further consideration.
Resolving that action alone could take years to work it’s way through the court system. It would also deny the Dems the show trial that they desperately want so that they can damage the President’s election chances.
A court eunuch would have enough of a pair to defeat this. Two thirds is the poison pill.
Nancy is well aware that the Senate would never convict. But in romper room caucus, anything goes, and the children want to feel good about themselves.
After blocking Garland I don’t know why you would doubt Mitch’s testicular fortitude.
