President Trump ordered federal agencies Thursday to begin enforcing existing federal rules against immigrants who end up on the public dole, telling the government to begin demanding the money be repaid by the immigrants’ sponsors.
The move is aimed at legal immigrants who are generally supposed to prove they are able to sustain themselves without becoming dependent on welfare assistance.
Mr. Trump, in his new directive, said a 1996 law on the subject is plenty tough, but the government has never actually followed through on what Congress wrote.

THIS thread deals with LEGAL immigrants who guarantee that they, along with their sponsors, will not be a financial burden on the country while they hold immigrant status.

Just think where America would be today if Trump, not GHWBOOSH, had followed Ronald Reagan into office! How much better off we would be today if we had not had to suffer with the Booshes, the Clintons, and Obola! Part of the process of becoming citizens should be proving that you will not become a charge to the rest of us. No money, no citizenship. It should be that simple. You should not get a government credit card along with your citizenship papers!
Why did it take 2.5 years to do this. AND do not tell me that it was because Congress was holding him up. This should have been day one shiite.
