Federal Judge Blocks Drilling On Public Lands In Wyoming
Cleantechnia ^ | March 22nd, 2019 | Steve Hanley

Posted on 05/22/2019 11:34:41 AM PDT by Bob434

Here’s what happened. A suit was filed by WildEarth Guardians, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and the Western Environmental Law Center prior to the 2016 election. It alleged the Bureau of Land Management, which oversees oil and gas exploration of federal lands, failed to calculate and limit the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from future oil and gas projects. Judge Rudolph Contreras agreed, ruling that BLM “did not adequately quantify the climate change impacts of oil and gas leasing” and “must consider the cumulative impact of GHG [greenhouse gas] emissions” generated by past, present and future BLM leases across the country.

so while We didn't sign onto Paris deal- states are now evidently taking it upon themselves to enforce paris-deal-like regulations on the US via federal court rulings and state mandates-

Judge is a Barack Obama appointee and is also associated with the FISA court.

That is the real problem in this country: too many judges who rule based on their agendas, not the law.

And their agendas just happened to be the same as the Dem agenda.

Just promise that the oil will be sold overseas, so the CO 2 promises not to cross borders.

So the government of Wyoming approved it.

The federal government approved it.

How do these people have standing to sue when no citizen of California or the federal government had standing to sue to actually DEFEND Prop 8?!

Equal Justice for all my ass.

Knew that name sounded familiar:

“In 2017 Contreras was randomly assigned the case of United States of America v. Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser to President Donald Trump. The two-page indictment was released on December 1, 2017.[9] Contreras accepted Flynn’s guilty plea to one count of making false statements to the FBI in the course of their investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The guilty plea was part of a plea bargain with the Special Counsel investigation led by Robert S. Mueller III.[9] On December 7, 2017, Contreras was recused from further sentencing hearings scheduled to take place in the future.[10] The case was randomly reassigned to District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan.[11] According to several reputable sources, text messages show that Peter Strzok, a veteran FBI counterintelligence official who worked on the Flynn case as part of Mueller’s team, knew Contreras.[12][13]”

It’s called “fundamental change” for a reason. And, no...Barack has not left the building. His leftist minions are like roaches, but not as clean & cuddly.

“did not adequately quantify the climate change impacts of oil and gas leasing”

Bogus. The SCOTUS will probably throw it out. The criteria is purely subjective. There is not even enough evidence to prove it impacts climate change, nor what IS “adequate”.

Is this Rudolf Contreras the same cork soaker who was involved in the FISA shenanigans and that CJ Roberts had recused? If so, why is this Obama-hole still a judge of any kind?

Don’t indict the great state of Wyoming in this. They want oil production.

Slap some numbers in a document, throw in a few terms like “long tem environmental impact” and some gobbledegook and submit.

At a delay cost, a re-study cost, more delay costs, more interest charges and “no return money costs” plus the appeals cost itself ....

Only to have the next judge create more delays.
